My pleasure, one of the reasons I made it, because not much available. Be advised there is a revision launching this month to further enhance these stones. This was their first ever Whetstone creation like this, and it's still in the "learn" phase. The second batch should be even better than these. The current lineup aren't all like the ones I had, I just happened to get a somewhat softer set, but it still sharpened very well and polished amazingly in the end. I will do a follow up with the new set, which Sharpal will be sending me.

Somehow i saw this Whetstone Set and could not find information. Looking forward if you do a new video, with the latest Version...

I shoul dbe getting them in a week or so, and will upload a video then! Also, the Diamond PLates they make are absolutely fantastic. I am about to upload a video in a day or two on their diamond plates (the 8" x 3" variety) where I repair and edge and then apex it back to normal. Excellent and even abrasive distribution throughout the whole plate, and when used properly without hardcore grinding with tons of pressure, will last a long time. @DroneShotFPV29 күн бұрын
Let me ask you this, the high pitched squeal / whine, does it slowly fade out after you unplug the pedal? Try this, plug it all in, and get the squeal to happen, and ONLY unplug the power from the back of the preamp house. If it slowly fades out as the power is leaving the unit, it would sound to my like a bad capacitor. A bad capacitor would be an easy fix, but these boards unfortunately are all typically SMD instead of standard components and finding / replacing it would require the ability to solder SMD to a surface mount board. I would say though lets start there and see what happens and reply back and let me know. I will see if i can help you!

I have struggled with weight loss my entire life, and 14 years ago lost 120 lbs on my own. I felt "human" again. Lately, over the last couple years I have been recovering from a car accident, and put weight on again, but didn't lose "me". I am extremely intuitive, I over think to the point that sleep escapes me most of the time or I get up early (like today lol) and I am extremely perceptive as well. Hello! Greetings from Argentina, nice vid and nice playing :). Could you explain how is the correct way to switch between presets? what is the special tweking you have to do when switching amp models for the unit to change to that instead of the saved one? I did not find your new upload video
@DroneShotFPV4 ай бұрын
My apologies for the late reply! From the person who designed this pedal with JOYO, you must first change from channel A to channel B... Once that is changed, then swap the AMP type you want to use. Once you have changed to that new AMP type,. switch back to channel A, then it will load the AMP type you selected and the factory default presets. You must do this each tim eyou want to change the AMP type, or else it will stay on whatever distortion type you chose to play with initially.

Why is the gain all the way up all the time? What the secret 😊?
@DroneShotFPV6 ай бұрын
For this system, when switching presets the gain , treble, mid, etc settings do not matter UNTIL you first move them. So , example, when you change from one amp model to the next, there are "default" settings which are currently being used. Once you change either the gain, treble, mid, bass, etc, those defaults are now no longer going to be in use, and whatever you change the dial to will be used. So even if EVERY settings was turned all the way to max, when you change models those settings are not valid until you start mak8ing changes. Doe that make sense? if not I can try to explain it differently. By default though, these are "High Gain" amp models, so they naturally will be used with gain, but what you are hearing actually has a LOT more gain to use on tap.

AND, ive owned many other pedals that are supposed to only work a certain why and if you mess with most of them enough you can stumble upon a work around method...ive had that happens many times. I have all 9 preamps saved in the all 9 different slots and they are all edited and saved to my preferences....I cant explain that any further...Im really tired of watching demo reviews on this pedal and everybody thinks it works and edits and saves differently so it is what it is. AND if the designer built this preampp to ONLY be able to save and edit ONLY just ONE preamp model no matter what then this is the worse preamp pedal ever designed and sold to the public !!!
@DroneShotFPV11 ай бұрын
You are wrong, unless there was some firmware update that came out... But I guess the person trying to find information by looking at videos all over knows more, because magically he just does.... Sorry pal, these are designed and limited by hardware, not software, to behave a certain way. there is only so much memory to allocate for saves, so unless you MAGICALLY multiplied the memory chips, and then found a way to slot the saves and call them PER pre amp, (which you didn't) , then what you are experiencing is just a delusion. Know why I know this? Because I build hardware like this, and have disassembled this to see what I could do with the internals. You "can't explain it further" because you truly don't have a clue from the engineering side of things, but I do... so you are 100% INCORRECT in what you are saying. and I wish there was a way to do what you said, I truly do, because I would love to save settings per preamp, but you cannot, end of story. Go ahead, tell JOYO you found a magic keyhole in their engineered hardware, and see what they say. Lets go ahead and see your examples, uploaded, RAW and unedited... or is that too hard to explain also? One other thing, any particular reason you are deleting your messages? Something that you need to hide? I screenshotted them for reference at least!

Everyone has their own preference, but if this was purchased as a twin reverb fill in, then the reason for this unit was missed. This is for the High Gain seekers, and those looking for a more "heavy / hardcore" sound. And yes, having a cab sim box of some sort, even a free one on your computer makes a WORLD of difference, as there is a single CAB sim built in... Variety is the spice of life when it comes to matching cabs / cab sims to pedals / amps / amp sims.

If you read the comments and description, the creator of the design contacted me, and told me how to fix that. I absolutely love this thing over plugins. I have a love for SOME plugins, my Helix Native is a good plugin, for example, but I love this thing, paired with the JOYO CAB BOX, which lately I have been loading with Hesu 2x12 and 4x12 cabs loaded with Demon speakers, as well as some ChopTones "Metal Pack" IR's, and these things paired together blow me away. I bought a second CAB BOX, and sometimes run a DSM Simplifier, or Walrus Audio MAKO ACS1 through the second CAB BOX, and get a stereo output, for a wet, dry, wet sound, and sounds killer! I also have used a second Preamp house though as well.. I HIGHLY recommend one of these, and if you can swing it, run it with the CAB BOX, and load your favorite IR's, tweak, and rock out. For gigs with a FOA connection, I will bring just a board with these on it, no amp, and just go straight to front of house, and they are amazing.

I just purchased this unit, some of the amp models are very impressive. I like the 900 and ENGL the most. One thing that should be pointed out about this pedal that it will ONLY save ONE clean and ONE dirty preset form ONE particular amp model. It will NOT allow you to save a preset from each amp model. So if you save a 900 preset on B, then go to ENGL and save a preset on B, the 900 preset is overwritten by the ENGL one. One preset for each A and B buttons, no saved presets for every amp model.
@DroneShotFPV3 жыл бұрын
100% correct. Initially, myself (and many others) thought it would save "per amp" , but unfortunately it does not. I also had to edit my description, because it was discovered a pattern that was required when swapping amps, otherwise a saved setting that is made, will pass along to ALL models, and never actually change that model (i.e. saving an EVH tone to your liking, and not following the pattern, when swapping to the ENGL, lets say, it will still be the EVH with saved settings.) Kind of like a "clear" function. And of course, once settings are saved, if you swap to another, save those settings, your old save is gone for the previous model. While that IS a drawback, in my personal opinion, I am not going to probably swap amp models unless doing a demo anyway. Most of the time we find one we like and stick with it, which I think was their mentality. Thanks for the reply, and I am glad you enjoy your Preamp House, it's a great unit for an excellent price! I actually have 2 of them now, one that I loop into my Modded Plexi with FX Loop (Randy Rhoads Cascaded MOD, PPIMV MOD, FX loop ), but then have an "ampless" board that I use for venues / places I can't take big bertha (that's what I call the Plexi clone, it's 150w lol). I have since picked up more IR's that sound great with it, including the Hesu Demon CAB IR, and Orange CAB IR, and V30's, etc. While it's not the real deal, it's pretty good on stage with a venue that requires FOH for sure! For me, I LOVE the 900 model on there, but I would say my 2 top favorites, if I had to name them, would be the Friendman BE100, the ENGL, then a 3rd would be the 900 for sure.

@DroneShotFPV3 жыл бұрын
I think it would work, but what is your end goal? I ask because this pedal plugged direct into a mixer, or to FOH, or even just with headphones is great. I use it as an "ampless" rig for smaller venues, Church, and for the School where I work. If you need something to drive speakers, you could use the method you mentioned, or a variety of other small micro amps. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

@@DroneShotFPV thanks for getting back to me I’m an enthusiastic but clueless guitarist with a THR10 which I love - it sounds fantastic even through headphones (which I use 90% of the time as I’ve got kids etc) However I’ve got a bunch of ambient delay/reverb/loopers/chorus-y pedals which I’d love to be able to pair with the “wall-of-sound” distortions of the amp itself but they don’t sound great as they have to go in front of the distortion channels of the THR10 (which doesn’t have an effects loop). So far, external drives and distortions have sounded terrible going into the “clean” setting of the amp My plan is to get the R-15 , as it seems like it can reproduce some great amp-like distortions of the type that im looking for , and run it through my other pedals into the “flat” channel of the THR10 ( “Flat response clean input for line sources, tone and effect controls allow shaping of non-guitar sources” as per the manual). But you’re saying I could play this direct into headphones!? I’m pretty much sold!
@DroneShotFPV3 жыл бұрын
@@dantasia721 You sure can play it direct into headphones! It's essentially an "amp" in itself. It has a built in Cab SIM also, so it doens't just sound janky and rough. This pedal has an Effects Loop, just like an amp does, so those FX you have will go right into the loop! That's how I use it actually, with my Chrorus, reverd, and delay pedals, is right into the FX loop of this pedal for my ampless rig. In my years of experimentation I have found MANY pedals, such as verbs, choruses, etc, of certain type / brands do not sound good straight into the front of an amp... What's crazy is several of my guitarists I LOVE, use those same FX in front of their amps (according to what they say anyway), but I have never had great results, aside of 1 or 2 amps that it actually worked for. I need to revisit those tests to see what I can make work well in front of an amp (new video idea! lol) But yes, this would replace your THR completely, and be it's own unit. If you get a chance, down the line, buy a CAB BOX as well (in my video, that is what I use instead of MIC'ing a cab) and I put the output of the R-15 Preamp house into the input of the CAB BOX, and then either use headphones, or the Direct out to my mixer / front of house instead of using speaker cabs as well. You can load impulse responses, and I can get a sound that when I tweak it and dial it in, sounds like I am playing through a vintage cab!

There is a SPECIFIC way to change the channels properly, otherwise every channel has the same sound. When I was testing this before making a video, I switched channels properly, unfortunately, until after the video I didn't hear that I had not switched them the same way.The amp in question that was heard through the entire video (aside of 1 of the others) was the EVH amp model, which is DEFINITELY more compressed. There was another video / audio uploaded with different sound samples to rectify this issue.

Hello! I have the nux mini studio and I'd like to use the cab IRs on it. The problem with the nux pedal is that it does not have a xlr out. I was planning on putting the nux mini studio in the fx loop of the joyo preamp house that way i could send it out to FOH via xlr out. Does that make sense or will it sound bad? Let me know what you think. Thanks!
@DroneShotFPV4 жыл бұрын
YOu don't want it "in the loop" so to speak. The only way I have ever used a cab sim with the FX loop (I have the Joyo CAB BOX of course :-) ) is sending the FX SEND to the input of the cab simulator, and then from the cab sim to the FOH or where ever, but never "in the loop" as an effect. What you CAN do, is get on Amazon, and get the Seismic Audio 1/4" TRS to XLR out cable. They are about 1" in length, and allow you to have XLR out. I personally use this myself for ANYTHING like this that doesn't have XLR out built in, and it works for me. A guy claimed that it wouldn't work, after I had already said it's what I was using, so let me tell you, it works FLAWLESSLY for me. Hi sir just wanna ask if its possible to use different amps between the A and B switches? For example i want my clean sounds to be a fender amp and my dirty tones will be the lonestar. Is that possible?
@DroneShotFPV4 жыл бұрын
Sorry I just saw this, but yes, you can. You can choose one clean channel, and that can be ANY channel, save it, and then another totally different dirty channel. I found out from the designer of this pedal (Not JOYO, they built it and made it WITH the designer) that when you save a preset for a channel (A or B) that is what loads each time. So, to repeat, if you choose Fender 65 Twin clean channel, set it up like you want, and then save it, but then choose Friedman BE100 for the dirty channel, set it up and save it, then your clean will be recalled as the Fender, and the dirty will be the Friedman until you modify settings and save again. That is why my demo had some similar sounds for the channels. There were a few that changed due to how I "switched" them. Any questions, please let me know!
@axelmoya70224 жыл бұрын
Hey bro, something is wrong, when you change from channel A to channel B, you must change the amplifier, in this review all the amplifiers of channel B are the same🙁 Thanks for the video👏🏻
@DroneShotFPV4 жыл бұрын
Are you referring to the one you have? ALl of mine are different, but the compression of KZbin has brought them to "similar" structure. Anothere issue here is these are the "out of the box" sounds, I didn't mess with any of the EQ settings , gain, etc on any "amps" aside of the Fender, and in my opinion, they are all very similarly dialed in from the factory to be sorta similar / gainy in sound. Once you tweak the EQ, they really come alive as well. But in person (and in the FULL demo I created) the sounds are definitely different, but keep in mind Channel B is definitely designed for a more High Gain / Chuggy type of sound. Yes, you can get more than just the heavy chug, but as an example, the AC30 tone on the B channel of this pedal, I get the chimey British style VOX tones, where the Marshal I get that Mid Scooped crunch / heavy sound. The full demo video I have yet to upload (I am a slacker, this current issue in the world has made me busier than I ever wanted to be lol) will showcase this, as well as the new IR's and EQ'ing I have in placeee will better demonstrate it than this "quick and dirty" video I currently have up. Thank you for your comment! And again, if you mean on your pedal, that the sounds don't change unless you move from one amp sim, then back to the one you want, there is definitely a problem. Let me know, and maybe I can help you out!
@axelmoya70224 жыл бұрын
I made this pedal with Joyo's engineers😃 And I mean that you must first change from channel A to channel B and then change the type of amplifier. If you listen to each dirty preset, they are all the ones stored in the memory😕

Only one type of amp can be stored on each channel.

@@axelmoya7022 I see what you are saying, you mean when you first load it up, you select whatever amp you are wanting, and it will work fine, but switching to anything else you must load it the way you said? Is that what the flashing light means? I can't ever get any answers from JOYO on those sorts of things, and their manual is SERIOUSLY lacking. Which is why I have been documenting what I have been doing (not yet uploaded) to help those who were stuck like me. Which probably makes sense why when I was tweaking, everything sounded much better than "out of the box" , because I was switching things all around similarly like you said. Anyway you could private message me somehow, as I have a couple questions for you? I won't bother you, but I have a few questions I haven't yet figured out I want to pick someone's brain about! Also, if you did this, you did AMAZING!
Hey. I never biught a preamp before. Can I just use this as distortion/od pedal? Is there anything technical I need to know. I don't have much experience with pedals aside from Boss BD-2. Thanks!
@DroneShotFPV4 жыл бұрын
Dave, yes, you can use this in front of an amp technically as a distortion pedal. I guess the first question is, what amp will you be using? If I were going to use this with an amp, I would do it one of two ways, I would use the signal out coming from the Preamp House, into the FX loop return, which would work PERFECTLY. The other option, would be to use it on the clean channel, and have this do all your distortion / OD. I reshot a new video of this pedal 3 or 4 times (had some DI interface issues / MIXER audio issues, then realized my son was messing with the mixer sliders and Gain Pre's and whatever else was "fun" on it while goofing around lol) And in the "full deep dive" I actually demonstrate this in front of an AMP as well as in the FX loop as mentioned above. I should have the final edit finished by tomorrow I hope, and uploaded by end of day. What is your end goal with using it? Just to experiment with different sounds / styles? If you have ANY questions, let me know, and I will answer them!

Great demo mate, you're a tasty player. I'll be honest though, I feel like the Iridium is a different pedal to this one (similar, but different). Nice work bloke! 🤘🖤

Definitely different than the Iridium, but more geared towards those who couldn't afford an Iridium, but still want something "similar". I have been working on a new video, that I have had to re-shoot twice now due to some issues with my mixer (turns out my boy loves to twist and turn knobs, and I am too lazy to check before doing suff! lol), but stock settings sound pretty similar, but tweaking this unit really makes it shine, ESPECIALLY the AC30 variant with Single coils, sounds choice! Glad you love yours man! I am uploading a FULL in depth / knob twisting review, along with some diving in to the CAB BOX to demonstrate some attainable sounds. As well as some mega awesome IR's that truly make this JPH shine!

@@DroneShotFPV some of the videos I've seen would suggest that the Iridium isn't so great for metal guys, even with a boost. The JPH is absolutely killer for it, and since I range from "acid trip" ambience, all the way to chug city, I really need the high gain. I would seriously suggest an eq or overdrive going into the input (even for mid-gain). It really brings the pedal to life, and tidies up that little bit of buzz. Happy tweaking brother!

@@RubyD80 I have found thee same thing as well from all the videos I watched (was initially going to get the Iridium previously). The Strymon seems more for Rock / LIghter Rock. I actually use the MXR 10 Band EQ pedal on my board, directly into the JPH, but for Demo purposes I didn't engage it. Also, depending on what I am doing, I don't always use it either. The JOYO CAB BOX however, even when you load the Impulse Responses into it, has an EQ section which I always tweak, then "set and forget" it. It's a VERY flexible and powerful tool. You can emulate Power Amp sections, choose what tube types, set Input AND output gain settings, as well as presence which acts like a real presence knob on an amp. The of course the EQ section, you can choose between a Guitar Graphic EQ, a Bass Graphic EQ, or a Parametric EQ! If you use the built in CAB models, you can do like all the others, and adjut the MIC position,l and MIC type. For the price, the JOYO CAB BOX is an amazing piece of gear! They are all different sounds, and no "tweaking" was involved in this demo (that is the next video). This was a "quick" out of the box sound demo. I am currently editing a video of adjusting and tweaking each individual amp and channel. There is SOME similarity between the drive channels, but they are in fact different. The AC30 sounds very chimy, and the JCM900 is more Saturated than the LoneStar, and the Friedman is extremely "tight" even with the default presets. But this is a preamp pedal, which has many uses other than a pedal "in front of the amp" type thing, like I am using it here. I literally have NO amplifier connected here at all, and it's just the JOYO Preamp House, to the Cab box IR loader, and then out to the DI. If you have anything specific you would like to see / hear in the one I am editing, I will add it for you, since I am still in the edit stages.
