Poulpie if you’re on a Mac, a beta version of this was just released last week, but for now this is exclusively on Apple. Similar software you can get on PC: MagicaVoxel: in of the most popular, beautiful rendering, and free for commercial use. Has a lot of great modeling tools but it’s export options are limiting for professional use in games. VoxEdit: maybe the only voxel tool with bone rigging animation, part of larger “The Sandbox” game making platform. I’ve made lots of tutorials for it on this channel, and I work as one of the lead artists and level designers for the company that makes it. Also free to use commercially. Qubicle: not my favorite, feels very limiting when I’m used to the tools in MagicaVoxel, but it has some of the most comprehensive import and export options, and a lot of optimization tools for game making. A little pricey though, and it’s been a while since regular updates. Goxel: I don’t have a lot of experience with this tool. It’s most similar to MagicaVoxel, but it has its own pros and cons. Also available for iOS and Android. I believe the PC version is free, but the mobile ones are not. Also open source. There are others. It looks like a lot of people are interested in creating their own, but these 4 and VoxelMax have the most capabilities as far as I’ve seen.

@@Voxelize Thank you a lot for this detailed response! I think i'm going to use MagicaVoxel (For the landscapes), i've seen some cool commands on it and it seems to be really easy to use! Thank you again for this answer, it helped me a lot, your channel is pretty good and useful, I'm trying to create a voxel video game, a little bit like CubeWorld but withouth random generation and Action-RPG with a bit of dark souls "Gameplay"

Poulpie glad to help! Someday I want to have more MagicaVoxel tutorials on here but I’ve been super busy with other things.

Hello good day! How can you setup the guide plane?
@Voxelize3 жыл бұрын
If you press and hold on the view cube a menu will pop up and you can turn the guide plane on. There's no more set up to it than that - a guide plane is automatically projected from the voxel face you press on.
