I hate the new aer lingus livery. All the uniqueness and soul was sucked out of it and replaced with a questionably blue-green tail and white fuselage. Green is the colour of Ireland. Where is the green on aer Lingus now?? 90% removed. Now it is just like every other generic all white livery out there. And the tail isn't even green anymore. It's practically blue.
@PatrickSheaAviation9 сағат бұрын
Yea... I will miss the green fuselages when they're all gone. Poor touch in the renovations where all aircraft are becoming white tubes with a splash of color

In 1985 I flew to Dublin and back home to MIA on Air Fungus. You could still smoke in the smoking section on planes back then. I remember the food being tasty but the plane was dirty and the bathroom after 7 hours of flying, smelled like a hot, Turkish urinal.

That was interesting, and your story-telling is always welcome. I flew Ethiopian last summer non-stop from Toronto to Addis, a 13.5 hour flight--unfortunately on an A350-900 with 2-2-2 configuration in business class. But I found the seat comfortable, the bed less so, food very good, and the service excellent. I would happily fly them again, though hoping for a 1-2-1 arrangement next time.

That's great! I haven't flown them on any flight longer than 6 hours, so I look forward to a longer flight with them some day! Thanks!
@watahyahknow15 сағат бұрын
was hoping on some sort of bunkbed . stacked set like they have in sleeper busses and trains the idea is good though , only thing is that just buying three tickets for three seats in one row would cost less and would allow you to take three times the bagage wth you

There's a chance... although this was only a slight upgrade from a normal economy seat. Only $800 for the Skycouch, not too bad

Hi Patrick, nice and informative video! I have a question for you: flying Ho chi min to San Francisco with VAirlines at 6:30PM - 6:40PM do you arrive same day or the day before in SFO? Thank you!
@PatrickSheaAviation9 сағат бұрын
It arrives on the same day you depart. A fun little quirk of these east bound flights across the date line!

Great review. Congratulations! I was looking through your videos to see if you had one about LATAM Peru on a long-haul flight from Lima (Lima-Madrid route), but I didnt finid one. Lima is one the main Latam hubs, and Lima will inaugurate a new and improved airport at the end of March 2025. It would be great if you could do a review of the new airport and LATAM Peru Lima - Madrid business product.

Omg, your contents are full of complaints. If you don’t like a particular country’s aviation why travel there to only talk about the negatives. I understand you’re being honest but come on your reviews aren’t all accurate, too many loopholes. You can be honest which is good, but also try to talk from the positives since it seems it’s the negatives you enjoy. Bon voyage!

Not much point in a USA route as volumes are so low. I have flown with Gulf Air out of Manchester UK and like it a lot and great connections with eastern destinations.

Depends on the route. There's definitely demand for New York and maybe Houston, just not daily. But the codeshare through Heathrow has brought some solid numbers

Definitely one of the worst business cabin I have been to, from staff attitude, food, beverage and cleanliness. Unfortunately, they are the partner chosen by Qatar whenever we need to stop over in Doha. They are not really having any competitive edge in this market

Really good video man, I think your analysis was spot on. I booked the throne seat for my flight to San Francisco in 2 months time. I agree Aer Lingus business looks a bit budget especially compared to the likes of the middle eastern airlines. Probably better than BA though.
@PatrickSheaAviation9 сағат бұрын
Thanks! It's definitely not the strongest product, but I've found it for fairly cheap. In the age of BA and Iberia getting newer cabin products, it would be great to see Aer Lingus join that group

Now that you tried the "VIP Service" in Lagos, make sure you also try the PS Service at LAX. You pay a private company around USD 1,000, go to a private terminal off W Imperial Hwy, use a private (shared) lounge, have lunch, get escorted through private TSA and then driven directly to the plane in a sedan.
@PatrickSheaAviation9 сағат бұрын

I found the coffee on Ethiopian to be really good compared to other coffees served on other carriers. And the coffee was always hot, yet served half way down and not to the top. Others tend to be almost lukewarm.

That would be interesting! Although it doesn't seem to be the plan at the moment. The Chicago flights aren't as prestigious to Ethiopia it seems, whereas DC is a major political connection

Patrick I know you’ll be one of the first KZbinr to check Luanda’s new airport once the international flights are transferred from the old airport. I would suggest booking a flight on the new b787-9 that should arrive next month and then perhaps doing a stopover to than take a regional flight on the new a220-300, that way you would be able to try out the new long haul and short haul product of TAAG Angola Airlines and also their new hub, the biggest airport ever build in Africa from scratch!
@PatrickSheaAviation9 сағат бұрын
I've definitely been waiting to try Luanda's new airport and TAAG's 787s. Just waiting for the official announcements of when they will be in operation. But after my last TAAG journey, I've been desperately wanting to try it again!

This is not even the cheapest helicopter service I know of. If you are ever in southern Spain you can fly to Ceuta for as low as 80€ one way, and currently there is a subsidy for non residents of 65% so it ends up being under 80€ for the return from Algeciras, granted it’s just a 10 minute flight.
