the PNG Format is not newly created. The PNG Format is old.
@TrotecLaser21 күн бұрын
In the video, we’re not addressing the origin of the format itself; rather, we highlight that this specific file was "newly created" for the purposes of the demonstration. This distinction is important, as it allows us to focus on the new aspects of the file used, rather than the format's overall history.

I understand your concerns, and I genuinely appreciate your feedback. Laser inlay technology has indeed been available for many years, and advancements in technology continuously drive further innovation. While I understand that this might feel like an abrupt shift, embracing these changes is essential for progress. We believe these advancements help us evolve and deliver better, more efficient solutions. Thank you for sharing your perspective.

Thank you for reaching out and for considering us as a resource for your project. I appreciate the innovation and ambition behind what you're trying to achieve. However, since our expertise doesn’t extend to diode lasers, and our process isn't optimized for metal or tumbler applications, we're unable to assist directly with your current needs. This approach appears to be quite uncharted territory, and we’re unsure if it's technically feasible with existing methods.

Is there something special needed in the laser cutter to protect the co2 laser from shining onto the reflective aluminium?
@TrotecLaser21 күн бұрын
Rest assured, any excess energy will safely follow the path of the laser beam and will not pose any risk, provided the surface is kept flat. This design ensures that the energy remains controlled, protecting both the equipment and surroundings.
@geobruce199521 күн бұрын
@TrotecLaser is this the case for all types of co2 lasers, or only this special model
@TrotecLaser20 күн бұрын
While this process should operate similarly on any CO₂ laser, including other brands, we can only officially certify compatibility and performance with Trotec machines.

@Bob-of-Zoid22 күн бұрын
I know it does sandwiches really good!😋😁
@TrotecLaser21 күн бұрын
CO2 lasers excel at cutting only "combustible" materials such as wood, plastics, papers, fabrics and leathers, and so much more; they aren’t suited for cutting non-combustible materials like metals, stone, or glass. However, these materials can still be beautifully engraved with precision, allowing for detailed customization and marking without compromising on quality.

I wonder how well laser foil would hold up on engraved tumblers?
@TrotecLaser21 күн бұрын
I have done it and so far, it seems to hold up quite well as long as it is hand-washed!!
@asseenonline795124 күн бұрын
Or just do this in one pass on any 2 color laser laminate and eliminate the extra steps. I don't think customers care or appreciate the difference in using wood veneers or a laser laminate. The very slight difference in depth can be eliminated with clear coat. Yes it's a cool method and if you're after a specific wood grain pattern or color, go for it! If the main objective is to make a sharp looking image with good contrast, other methods can be much quicker.
@TrotecLaser24 күн бұрын
Thank you for the suggestion! While two-color laser laminate can indeed be quicker and more effective for specific projects, there’s something truly distinctive about real wood inlay that many customers genuinely appreciate. The depth, texture, and unique grain of wood bring a level of character and sophistication that can’t be replicated with plastic laminates. For functional signage, plastic is practical and efficient. But for those who seek heirloom quality-a piece that exudes natural beauty and lasting elegance-wood inlay is worth the investment. This craftsmanship resonates with clients who value authenticity, often translating into a significantly higher perceived value and return.

Thank you! I'm delighted to hear that you're pleased with it. Regarding using acrylic, it should theoretically be compatible; however, sanding could be a bit tricky. Great ideas. I'm also a woodturner (lathe) and have used a thin piece of Corian by gluing it between two pieces of wood and when I make the bowl it has a ring around bowl that adds a lot to the end result. I mention this to say I went to a local fabricator of Corian, asked if they had any scraps I could buy and explained what it was for. They GAVE me as much as I wanted from the scrap bin that was a perfect size. Needless to say I made the bowl and brought it back as a thank you and get some more Corian. I now have a 30W diode laser and some leftover material. I'm going to try your method and see what happens. Thanks for the idea. BTW I watched a couple of your videos and you have a new subscriber. Tomorrow I'll be checking out your other videos.

Epoxy is toxic to breathe and to the skin. You should wear a paint mask and good nitrile gloves when you are dealing with it. Also, most epoxy is rated by the wavelength it responds to. 405 nm is common, I believe. That light would do a WAY better job than sunlight without the risk of dust and debris contamination, since it is tuned at 405 nm.

How would you go about adding a second color to the engraved/inset? Say you did the silver in the engrave and wanted to make the surface level Blue?
@TrotecLaserАй бұрын
You'll need to engrave the product while it's tightly positioned against the rulers to ensure proper alignment. After engraving, remove the product and apply the foil into the engraved area, removing any excess. Then, place the product back into the machine in the exact same position and engrave the next section. Repeat this process as needed. The key is to always position the product or material in the same spot, usually tight against the ruler, to ensure consistency throughout.

Hi.. I would like to ask, it seems that the technique you use on mirror glass media, the position of the laser beam when engraving the glass, is not 100% straight reflecting on the laser light source, is the technique like that, thank you for sharing your knowledge.
@TrotecLaserАй бұрын
Even if the mirror is not perfectly flat, this process will work as the laser only sees the glass, and a glass mirror is not a reflective surface for a laser.

Try using colored uv resin then repeating the first step to remove what you don't want. I'm sure the results would be stunning and be faster.
@TrotecLaserАй бұрын
You are correct; that is another option for an inlay-like effect shown in another video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5rIl5yOrbKXe7ssi=bxU2_UHAZUPzqRL). However, UV resin inlay will produce a completely different look. Inlayed natural wood veneer into wood produces a look that cannot be reproduced any other way, and real inlay has a much higher perceived value for not much more time, creating a better ROI. However, you get to choose the effect you want to see!
