I do wish we could hit it back to Atari Teenage Riot but I played at Frenchtek (and a load of the other Technivals/raves) from 2003-2017ish. Always rude af! Thank you for drawing attention to how important French hardtek is in the development of electronic music. It was a truly beautiful time of my life...just started playing out again...now im sober. Why do you need drugs with this kind of music?!? 😂

The 'early hardcore' sound is for many people a nostalgic throwback to the vibes of the '90s. Simpler times, goofing around with your friends, crate digging in record shops, experiment with upcoming technology, quality drugs (ehm, so they say, ahum) and universalist mentality. Now for my tastes in te broad spectrum that is loosely defined as 'Hardcore': *Early hardcore, great fun and for the vibe I mentioned above *Industrial hardcore, bit slower BPM which creates more impact if that makes sense. I also enjoy a lot of breaks to shake things up. Some metal snares also get me going. (PRPSCT rec, Genosha, Mindustries,... * Acidcore, what can I say. I love 303's and the squelching brain-melting sounds. Deep kick drums, amen break drum loops, eerie samples for ethereal dancing. (Narcosis, PureAnalog) Not a fan of Terror and Speedcore. I appreciate pioneers as Drokz, Akira,... and I get the appeal but it's not for me. Peace out and take care! HAKKEN

Hello Mindprinter, I already saw most of your videos about the different hardcore types and I just want to say thanks for the whole work you've put into the videos. It really helped to give me a good foundation to find new more underground hardcore stuff and not only the stuff people play at the big festivals. In dem Sinne Grüße aus Frankfurt :D

Not gonna lie, but I seriously wouldn't have been surprised if an Angerfist track made the list here. If you told me 20 years ago that hard dance / hard style was gonna be the saviour of hardcore, I would have asked what you were smoking and could I get some too?

First: Thankfully forgot to mention a lot of shitty mainstream from the last 6-7years. (Not as sweet the taste of Hardcore scene as the video are showed. I'm mean not all for everyone.) Second: Mentioning DJ Ruffneck only for a fraction is... i don't have words for that. I know there are a lot of DJ's and producers, they cannot fit into 22 minute of course. But Ruffneck also is a very BIG name from very early on. Whatever.

I always wondered why rawstyle (d)evolved into pussystyle. If only i had known it just changed its name i wouldn't have wasted all that time looking for good kicks that sounded more than just an angsty teen kicking his 8-bit console like mom isn't watching.

I both like and dislike hardcore. I both like and dislike tracks across many styles, but I tend to prefer the somewhat slower styles (135 - 150BPM or so I guess) I don't really like when it becomes too aggressive or too soft.. But what I dislike most is when it becomes too repetitive. It's too simple and boring to just have a kick drum, high hat, some bass pad or lead, some synth chord, repeat that a few hundred times and call it music. I want to hear some interesting synth melodies, trancy/dreamy vocals, sound effects, etc.. I would even experiment with some guitar melodies. Why not? Go crazy and creative man. It's a form of art after all. I wonder if a combination with some infected mushroom and trancy effects like psytrance or classic goa could work well but I think the difficulty is that it may start to sound messy.. One track I liked for instance is Juggernaut - Ruffneck rules da artcore scene. What I would like a lot is if it has some prodigy or scooter influences. Another track I liked a lot was on a Ruffneck presents Raver's Night compilation album: Wasting program - Tell me what you find. And one other track was in christmas style. I think it was on a thunderdome christmas edition album. I remember it contained a lot of samples from the movie Home Alone but I lost it and have never been able to find it afterwards. I left the scene a bit after I attended the second Defqon 1 festival, which according to my friend seemed more like a drugs convention than a music festival. Beside that it was not a nice atmosphere and frekking cold as well so my friend and I left early and never returned which is a shame because the first defqon 1 festival was quite nice.

For me, the oldschool Hardcore and the early Gabberscene is the best. I love PCP Frankfurt, DJ Dano, Dreamteam, Laurent Ho, Rotterdam Terror Corps, Lady Dana, Gizmo and the Darkraver, Paul Elstak, Neophyte and many more from the good old times ❤ But Hardcore will never die 🤩

I am a 42 guy that lived hardcore era from 1997-98 to 2007. Regarding Millenium sound, much respect to all the producers that propose the sound of those unforgettable years in dedicated sets/areas in the current parties. Enzyme for me was the best of the best (Nosferatu, Endymion, Ophidian, Meagashira...) but also Promo, Angerfist, Dione, and the italians like Noize Suppressor, AOF, Tommyknocker, Dj D and many others created many dancefloor killers. Great video, much respect from Italy!
