Beautiful images !!! The city of Versailles is world-renowned for its palace and gardens, which are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. And what about the museums? Among the museums in Versailles, there is the Museum of the History of France in the palace, the Carriage Gallery in the Great Stables, and the Jeu de Paume Room, which was transformed into a museum of the Revolution in 1883. A must-visit. Thank you for this video. As an American, I will probably never get to experience this. I had no idea the grounds were so large. The home seems to be a hodgepodge of building. I guess different generations kept adding to it.

Birmingham is now starting to do what London and Manchester is doing and they are building one of the tallest buildings which would be ofc outside London but they need to be at the same speed as Manchester

Great suggestion, I do prefer to go slower when possible but it can be difficult due to my natural quick pace. If it helps you can use the video settings on KZbin and you can slow down or speed up the video 😀 Thanks for watching

Mayfield Park - outstanding and much needed in a city centre not renowned for its green spaces. Picadilly Gardens - rip it up and start again. An embarrassment to Manchester.

Mi primera referencia sobre este maravilloso palacio la tuve en mi adolescencia en 1972 a traves de la Revista Selecciones de Reader' Digest donde hablaba sobre los esfuerzos del Ministerio de Cultura de Francia por restablecer el esplendor de Versalles, desde entonces quede impresionado hasta que en el año 2016 siendo ya profesor de Historia en una excursión a Europa tuve lo oportunidad de visitarlo con tan mala suerte que por esos dìas había una huelga de los empleados de mantenimiento del palacio y no pudimos entrar, me sentí frustrado y triste, sin embargo con el favor del Señor Dios regresaré pronto a Francia a cumplir ese anehelo de visitarlo.

It’s always very sad to think of history disappearing, planners need to be sympathetic to historic buildings. Manchester is a great example of how architects can incorporate old and new, an example is what they did with the shambles and Exchange square. Thanks for watching 😀

I’m planning to tour Albert Square when it re-opens, its mostly been a construction site for the last couple of years, you can see it in a lot of our existing buildings with the town hall completely covered in scaffolding 🏗️

But that’s not happening! Nearly all the big new buildings are built on the sites of old surface car parks or light industrial estates. The worst time for the destruction of old buildings was during the second half of the last century - and they put up tacky timid little red brick blocks that were supposed to ‘blend in’. Personally, I enjoy the contrast between old and new and I think the city’s looking really good these days.

I do not recognize anything in this city anymore taken away the history and beauty of beautiful gothic buildings and replaced them with nondescript steel and glass towers my last trip home was in 76 l would need a map

Incredible to read that your last visit was in 76! I was born in 92 so Manchester is very much as I’ve always known it. You’d be surprised just how much of the city’s heritage they’ve managed to save, although so much has changed. John Rylands library is a great example nestled amongst the modern buildings there is still a lot of history still to see in Manchester 😀 I tend to agree about the glass buildings, the newest is the “Sudehill Shard” constructed immediately next to the 280 year old Turks Head pub… has led to some controversy 👍 Check out some of our other walking tours in Manchester, I’ve pretty much explored the entire city 🙌
