Paris Exploring - Notre Dame, Hôtel de Ville, Pompidou, Basilique du Sacré-Cœur - 4K

Todays 90 minute walk started at Notre Dame Cathedral, still standing proudly after the devastating fire, life goes on in the surrounding area with tourists still flocking here, myself included, one of my favourite areas. Next we cross the river to take a look at the beautiful city hall building and its square, can you spot the Olympic Rings? There are so many streets to explore it feels like the city of Paris just goes on and on, I totally underestimated how long it would take to get the Sacre-Cœur so we end up taking the metro to save my legs, only to find that Sacre-Cœur basilica is located at the top of a very steep hill with a lot of steps! I couldn’t believe how busy it was there with crowds of people visiting, there’s a moment when it starts raining very heavily and everyone is making a run for the church, luckily we’re prepared with an !I ❤️ Paris” umbrella. Dont let the rain and clouds spoil the day, the view from the viewing areaat the end is absolutoey incredible and well worth visiting in any weather, I enjoyed it so much that we go around twice!

Absolutely agreed! I hadn’t planned a trip to Sacre Cœur but visited on the recommendation from a family member, I’d never heard of it. So glad I visited and I would recommend to anyone, but take the metro, take it from me it’s a long walk from Paris central 😅 CWL
