I briefly worked in this John Lewis store as a xmas temp in late 2007 and remember we got told not to use these lifts whilst the store was open

I remember the logic being glitchy, if you were in the lift when it’s idle with the doors closed, you press door open and the doors would open half way and then immediately close again
