A nice review! I think one of the only things I disagreed about was the snowballing factor. I think that in Star Realms it's a lot easier to suddenly bump up to huge amounts of damage like 30 per turn. That's mostly because of some sick high-cost cards like Blob World and Fleet HQ :/ I thoroughly enjoy both games but I find that Hero Realms is easily the more entertaining one of the two. The Character Packs seem like worthy purchases as well, but I never really got any of the smaller Star Realms expansions (the booster ones). I only got Colony Wars. I just didn't find the idea of "more randomness" (events) or a few more cards that are similar to the earlier ones (bases & battleships, fleets & fortresses) worth the price. Heroes seemed a little bit tempting and I'm still considering whether or not I should just buy pretty much all of them because the games (both Realms games) feel so great over all :) Epic Card Game wasn't bad either, but I think it seemed pretty unbalanced when it came to "one color vs one color". Green lost each time in each of the matchups we played with friends. No matter who was playing with it... You just didn't have much that you could do against heavy fliers with lots of HP. You only had a few burn spells but that's it...

+Chertograad thanks! I agree, Star Realms can get ridiculous with heavy hitting turns. The point I wanted to make is that those turns start happening much earlier in Hero Realms, making the game faster paced. I also feel the cards are better balanced across the board, while there are obviously better and worse cards (as it should be in a deck builder), there are no "Brain World" s in the base set that decidedly give advantage to the player with enough cash at the opportune moment.

my character packs came foiled not shirnk wrapped. I think people who ordered more than one copy go shrink, foil fo those of us who got one copy. maybe not tho! Im hanging out for the campaign stuff.

I like the space theme in Star Realms more but its sad that they didn't add character decks like these on Hero Realms, I might get HR just because of that
