That detent is not a buffer. It's a locking mechanism. It's not a hammer block, it's a transfer bar. Thanks for the review.

You can definitely tell that the P2 thousand is a little bit more beefier. Which would make sense because the P3 is a evolution of the P 2000 where they are trimming it a little bit both guns along with the USP are so overly built from the beginning, a little bit of trimming wouldn’t hurt anything lol. Essentially these handguns are so overly designed and built that it would be almost impossible to wear them out.

After 1000 rounds, were there any misfires? How was accuracy at various distances and with both 38spl and 357mag rounds? Felt recoil? Etc

Very nice gun. I have the regular model P version in .357 mag and it looks very similar to yours but the body is lighter and no texturing on the grips. I was lucky enough to find one of the pre war models that still have the four clicks and fixed firing pin. Really love it.

The new ones DO NOT HAVE AN ADJUSTABLE rear sight. the whole thing is plastic. They don't come with a Optic plate you have to buy it. Do not BUY there are much better choices available for the same price.

Mine came with a broken firing pin sleeve and the mag release fell out into four pieces. I sent it back to Baretta for service. Eight weeks later it came back repaired. I fired it at the range. Other than the garbage trigger, it performed well. Much less snappy than I expected. Got home and cleaned it. Removed the Burris Fast Fire 3 that came installed. The optic is the main reason I purchased it in the first place. The Burris now sits on my APX A1 Tactical, and the APX A1 Carry sits in a safe, where it will stay until I sell it.

I don't have a 627 but I have a model 28 blue steel 4" and a 625 5" stainless. When I get through shooting I spray them down with Balistol, including the bore, and when I get home they are ready to rub down with an old T-shirt and a toothbrush. Presto, they are clean again and it works as well in the bore. Both guns are fun to shoot and I wouldn't want to be without either. If I were carrying the 625 for defense I would load the cylinder with .45 auto rim and carry a couple of moon clips for backup but I would put them in the revolver and spin them first. I can't imagine having to reload a .45 ACP in a gunfight but if I did wouldn't want any surprises.

I have the same weapon. I wanted a smaller revolver for the woods instead of a .44. It’s perfect for that. I agree the quality is just not there. My hammer is way off center and really not fitted well. When I tried to send it back to Ruger they told me no even told them how unhappy I was with the fitting of the hammer. My first and last Ruger. I spent a lot of money to be unhappy.

I have a P2000 in .40SW. It is an excellent gun and makes for a great CCW piece. I like the .40SW caliber as it hits hard. You really can't go wrong with this gun, unless you're averse to DA/SA.

If you want a better trigger you can replace the main spring and the trigger return spring with a Wolf S&W spring set. And while you are in there you can smooth up the internal parts. This is something you can enjoy doing yourself and the are plenty of good videos here to show you how.
@cliftonwhittaker26025 күн бұрын
If you think the 627 is fun now, just wait until you put in a Wolf spring kit and smooth the friction surfaces some. You will begin to appreciate the shorter double action trigger pull because the cylinder doesn't have to travel as far in rotation as it does on a 6-shot cylinder.

I just bought a p2000 in 9mm and I have only taken it out to one range day so far. My initial thought was I don’t like the trigger pull and over all I was not very impressed. This left me in disappointment on my recent purchase. After watching this I have hope that with more use the pistol will grow on me and it will become a valuable member of my collection.

Great intro, this is a category of firearm that is fantastic yet lost in a sea of striker fired micro guns or Glocks. I have the PX4 CC and a CZ P09, there is a group of die hard hammer fired DA/SA owners that understand this is the perfect defensive carry weapon. I’m pondering a P30 or P2000. Although I may simply upgrade my P09 performance to get close to my LTT PX4. Great video.
