Thank you very much for your helpful video! I was able to replace both of my vents. I didn’t have a screw driver long enough so I used the tire tool to get the old ones off. New ones went on without much effort. Thank you once again! By the way, I think you need to give Jesus a try. He will give you better things to say. Take care!

I don't even run a space heater in the winter. The low is 40-55 and the high is 65-70 here in Needles California. Arizona, Nevada, and California meet near here. I'm along the Colorado river. The summer is brutal though, 120+. We get snowbirds down here in the winter and they head back north around the end of March or April. June 1st is when God flips the switch on the furnace and we have a swampass factor of ten. The snowbirds have the right idea. Lol

Hi JB, Although late... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from my family to your's! Yikes you have to scare me with what you said about gas stove's. I have to have a gas line extention installed for my brand new gas stove and dryer... The house is set up for all electric... I prefer cooking with gas... The house also has no vent for stove with AC/Heat in crawl space. Any advice would be appreciated.

The vent hood must duct to outside, They fans for mounting in any position, even on an outside wall. There are special requirements for Gas ranges and stoves. The system needs to flow way more CFM's than those used on electric cooktops, The vent hood must be larger the cooktop and mounted no more than 35" above cooktop. You need contact a pro dealer (NOT Home depot or Lowes) to help you select the proper type and size for application. Here's a few of many therangehoodstore.com/ broan-nutone.com/en-us/range-hoods/professional-style

So glad to see you back, sir! I do have a couple useful tidbits of info for you and other folks though. Disclaimer, I do work for a natural gas supplier, so yes, there’s a conflict of interest, but I’ve never been known as a, “company man,” that’s gonna sell out folks to benefit myself or the company I work for. I’m a Senior Gas Operations Technician, (it sounds fancy, I just say “gas tech.”) I use a Bascom Turner Gas Explorer 2 CGI (Combustible Gas Indicator) and have also used the Sensit Gold CGI before switching to the Bascom Turner. They are calibrated monthly with an actual test station, and run a, “field calibration,” in clean air (outside, in fresh air) test before every single use. These units are around 2,000-3000 dollars each. They are some of, if not the best in the business. I’ve gotten many CO, or natural gas leak calls over the years. Many from folks with these sorts of detectors, or the Kidde brand detectors. Out of all the calls I have responded to, there have been 2 that there were actual gas leaks, and only 1 that had an actual CO problem. Ironically, the CO issue was found in a separate shop that didn’t have a CO alarm, and just happened to have a cracked heat exchanger (I check all gas appliances during investigations, and not just the ones in the structure the alarm went off in.) I have found (through personal testing alongside my actual “professional,” as it’s called, CGI, that the Kidde actually performs (very slightly) better than the one you showed. All that being said, natural gas stoves do put out CO. Every single one. But it is very minimal, AS LONG AS, its burning clean, which most do. The main thing is to keep the burners clean. Don’t leave stuff that’s left from something boiling over on there. Don’t let grease build up. Don’t leave a dead mouse lying against the burner, or try and use a dirty diaper as a way to light a burner (yes, I have encountered both of those in my career). I’m a bit obsessive with making sure natural gas is safe, as I have used natural gas for a long time, and I have a wife and kids. I’ve tested my gas stove with my CGI while doing all day cooks at low temps (where you’re most likely to get CO issues, in my experience), and have gotten 1-2 parts per million CO in the house. That is an incredibly low CO reading, (we evacuate houses as a precautionary measure at 50 parts per million). Significantly lower than what you get if someone is a cigarette smoker that smokes in the house. I’m a longtime viewer and love every video and recipe, so I don’t want this to come across as some angry dude that’s blindly defending something. Just don’t want folks to be afraid of their stoves and waste money to convert to electric. I’m just a random redneck in Arkansas that loves your videos and wants to make sure folks don’t get scared for no reason. I cannot speak for propane specifically, as I have never tested, worked with it, but the burn qualities are similar aside from propane running at higher pressures, so I’d imagine but cannot guarantee it’s the same. Cheers to you and the family! Wishing yall the best in this new year!

Thank You for your comment, Main reason I posted this video was due to the facts, not many folks understand CO build up inside a modern Tightly sealed home, As I stated the older homes were loose/not sealed well at all. Much too often I've read about folks dying from emergency generator use, or worse trying to heat there house with a BBQ pit. Some Kidde detectors may work well, the ones I have suck. I should have done more research before purchasing them. I purchased my Correl after reading about CO monitor accuracy in the news, It was cheap and primarily sold as belt clip on unit for confined place air motioning. & yes on having any test instrument re-called often. I just wanted to remind folks to read their appliance install and owners manuals to stay safe. I failed to mention that some cooktop exhaust systems Do Not remove the fumes from inside a house, they simply filter and recirculate them back inside. But You know that, others do not... I'm a retired state Licenced Plumber and Gas fitter. Have worked soldering copper piping in confined areas using a LP torch. I knew better than to staying in those areas for too long without proper ventilation. Even a small camping tent can hit low O2 and Hi CO levels if sealed to tightly. Thanks again Goat & take care
