I went to school back in the 60s and 70s, down in Louisiana, and I have always Jonesed for what we called peanut butter fudge back then. I remember they had oats in it though. Them cafeteria ladies with the warts and stuff 😂 would lovingly slam a huge sheet pan on the counter and start doling them out to us hungry kids. I would trade anything on my plate at the time to anyone who would give theirs up. But, not many would take me up on my offer!😂 Thanks for sharing this ancient recipe with us all.😊

Here is a tip about working with parchment paper, wet the parchment paper and crunch it up into a ball, straiten it out and it will be more easier to work with.

Those peanut butter bars look good. They must be a great treat, and make the kitchen smell great. Thank you for posting this. I will try making this since it looks easy enough for my limited cooking skills. Do you prefer pure vanilla extract over imitation vanilla flavor, or can you tell a difference? I noticed the Revere Ware sauce pan with the copper bottom, and the EKCO stainless steel measuring cups. I agree that real butter is the best; hell with imitation butter or margarine or imitation eggs. Real eggs and real pure butter are better for you anyway. I like your video style with cuss words as you cook. I found a knockoff recipe for Dairy Queen style vanilla soft serve ice milk mix. It has 6 ingredients: whole milk, whipping cream, sugar, pure vanilla extract (for best taste), unflavored gelatin (Knox or like brand) and salt. I omit the gelatin since I have trouble stirring it up and making the gelatin lumps go away, and STILL get that famous Dairy Queen taste. After freezing the soft serve mix, add candy, fruit, or nuts of your choice to make a homemade BLIZZARD, or by itself for a soft serve cone or in a bowl. It's really good! Would you be interested in making a video of this dessert idea?
@007bondjb3 жыл бұрын
Whisk your powdered gelatin into a small amount of cool tap water before adding to hot water, Vanilla beans are best, but unless your a fancy French chef, anything else will be good enough...
