It has become the last song of their shows, played thousands of times by 2024. They have reached 20 yrs together. I admire the work they’ve put in a ton of work to get here. List5 times before giving up on any song.

I love this song, it’s emotional, some poor guy looking for his whoever, you touched on the fact that this is written by a young guy, Alex. I think he’s an old soul. I love the twist of the lyrics, ‘Forgive Mr I’m trying to find, I love how that’s done. The female vocal is perfect, for whatever has happened, to me, she’s lamenting in such a burst of emotion over deciding to leave, in 2024 Alex’s wife sings it. I’m bothered when someone says I don’t like a song, the more I listen, Oh hey, where did that drum beat come from, I rarely give up on a song, unless it really stinks. “Oh no, the boys have new music, I don’t think I like it…oh never mind, I love it. I love ATL, they are now revisiting old stuff, “it doesn’t sound like us anymore” Little tweaks, I love it. Listen to what you reacted to here 3 yrs ago. 😀

They sound like a MILLION other bands from that era. Blech...

First off, your review is fantastic. I really like your commentary/insights. You know your stuff. Every band thinks they are the "heavies on the block/badasses" until TJL shows up. This album was a beast. A ball peen hammer to the skull. Seeing them live is almost impossible to describe. They literally beat the crowd into submission. Off the charts intense. Listening to this album with a head full of acid is a life-changing experience. (so I've heard LOL)

14:00 "I Wanna Get Free" is the Vines, an Australian indie band from like 2003. Very different vibes from Jesus Lizard imo. Love their Letterman performance though where the lead singer had an actual mental breakdown on stage lol.

If you are referencing the 1974 movie Black Christmas then that is a great compliment. Both the 1974 movie and the Jesus Lizard are amongst my favorite things of all time! Good you got that feeling. Good stuff.

if ur still doing 90s series and since u asked for an album from 1991. i suggest Green mind by Dinosaur Jr. (one of my favourite bands) . released February 19, 1991

hi. i like ur reaction a lot. honest, and naturally reacting, authentic. i fell in love with r.e.m. last year by starting with their debut album and all of their following albums from 80s. they sounded young and wild and like a rock band. 90s also good albums, songs. im now at the 2001 album, which i also like. but maybe my favourite album is really their debut Murmur. U could react to that album too, if u like - i guess u will be surprised by the quality and rock sound. 🙂

FYI when this came out it was the sheeeee-ite, in the right circles of course. Another selling point is they are all crazy good musicians and the best live band I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot. Good, honest review though and do us all a favor by reviewing their upcoming 2024 album, the singles are great.

One more point then I will shut up. Grunge did not exist when this was recorded. This was considered punk rock. I was there. Just FYI.

What a lot of people don't know is that this record was mostly already recorded when they got their deal. They recorded songs each time they had money to get studio time. It was completely funded by the band before they had a deal. So, they compiled what were essentially demos when they got their deal and released this record. Jim had an uncanny ability to write extremely catchy, simple, tunes. He was a force of nature when it came to writing. What they truly excelled at was the live show. They were incredibly intense and energetic live. You can only get that good by putting in the time and MI did put in the time. Check out their 3rd major release, Freak City Soundtrack, which gives a glimpse into what they were like live.

Probably the only music I listen now. He’s the last train of the great 80’s 90’s and 60’s. Creativity on music nowadays kinda of full. Today’s music is all about commercial and profits. Music have to be within 3mins to suits radio broadcast.
