@ElectronicsCircuitHubECH do the resistor selections impact the current received at the load when in the nominal range? Is there an optimal set of resistors to supply a 5v load at 500mA? Thank you in advance!

sir thank you for your effort , Plz i want to ask you about 30Kv surge test is these calculations valid at this level (30Kv) and which MOV part number you recommend for such test
@ElectronicsCircuitHubECH23 күн бұрын
Hi...It's hard to reply without knowing exact application of your design and what all components you are using in your circuit. I would say probably you have to increase the MOV diameter to handle the more energy. so the (30KV-Vclamp)/2 = Current. So look at the MOV to handle this current. Also calculate the energy requirement so size the MOV. You can connect me in my number given in home page for more details. Thanks

@ElectronicsCircuitHubECH28 күн бұрын
Yes you can use use. But in this case VBE will always be 0.7V and will never increase beyond this so ib will be very less hence base resistance not needed.

its very informative. can you please also demonstrate another example for driving cree mosfet at Vds =200-300V supply half bridge inverter example. Because im bit confused with this gate driver ic since its using single dc source for driving both driver and mosfets.
@ElectronicsCircuitHubECHАй бұрын
Hi..There is no relationship between mosfet gate and Vds voltage. Mosfet gate is totally independent. Check the maximum vgs voltage of mosfet you have selected. Fixed the vgs voltage voltage for your mosfet based on input and output curve. Finally select the gate driver per your frequency, vgs and source and sink current capability. Hope this helps.

Professor, interesting circuit application. What areas might use this type of circuit design? Thank you
@ElectronicsCircuitHubECHАй бұрын
It is used in LED bulbs with DC output of around 45v DC. If used as charger. it is dangerous since it is not isolated from mains, there is a danger if shock. Possible application would be on enclosed devices where no component/wires is exposed to the user.

How do we know that Vbe =0.7V? Is it a constant value that's true for any circuit?
@ElectronicsCircuitHubECH2 ай бұрын
VBE is base to emitter voltage of npn transistor. Which is fixed and in the range of 0.6V-0.7V. Si material is used to form a PN junction so the cut in voltage of Si is 0.6V-0.7V. You can refer transistor datasheet for more information.
