Your tutorials are really good, don't get me wrong, but all of your stuff sounds basically exactly the same. This is a common problem in "edm" these days.
@soundhorizonacademy13 күн бұрын
I actually appreciate this comment, we had comments like this years back and we ended up changing genres altogether which was the wrong move, it just means I’ve developed a style and sound that’s used throughout my tracks and I’m glad it’s being noticed 🙏
@iswearnotme13 күн бұрын
@ I appreciate the response, likewise. It’s maybe more of a “me problem”; I’ve been experiencing this with a lot of this type of music. Your productions sound great obviously. Emotional edm is just kinda played out to me, but I suppose I started getting into it in like 2012.
@soundhorizonacademy13 күн бұрын
I feel that dude, i def listen to it less than I used to for sure. I’m slowly incorporating more cinematic stuff into my music but I’ve learned the hard way that doing swift 180’s don’t go well lol
@iswearnotme13 күн бұрын
@@soundhorizonacademy Haaaa I think you have to be Taylor Swift to do a swift 180, and even for her, she changed her style over the course of like 4 albums. She didn't do it overnight.

Music is more saturated than ever before, thus it's really hard to create something different. If creativity was that easy, then we would all be producing ground-breaking music.

Thank you Chris, this is my favourite video! I think the mindset is the most important part, because if you have a growth mentality and you want to achieve your goals whatever the cost, then you will find the "how" to achieve your goals, which in this case includes networking and other things. A very important piece of advice for everyone is to set an ambitious goal and focus on how you can achieve it. If you put everything you can into things, the result will be evident. Sometimes success does not come immediately, but there is one very important thing that must be repeated day after day. I will never give up! David Guetta is a perfect example. PS: I love what you do and I am sure that you will achieve your wildest dreams. Maybe not at the age of 25, because your path is different, but remember Susan Gale's words: "The longer you have to wait for something, the more you will appreciate it when it finally arrives. The harder you have to fight for something, the more priceless it will become once you achieve it. And the more pain you have to endure on your journey, the sweeter the arrival at your destination. All good things are worth waiting for and worth fighting for.”

Hey Chris! How does remixes work? How do you avoid copyright? Thanks for your tutorials!
@soundhorizonacademyАй бұрын
Hey buddy! so you want to ensure you dont keep anything from the vocal you use as reference, also ensuring you don't copy and melodies etc, what i do a lot is actually pitch the vocal to a different key to ensure its not exactly the same as the remix acapella im using to reference, that way when you remove the vocal, it has no ties to the track that you used the vocal from, that make sense?

Hey love the video, I'm wondering how do you start out making instrumentals? My instrumentals never motivate me to finish and release them like my remixes do.
@soundhorizonacademyАй бұрын
I never did the instrumentals thing, I started with remixes too and always struggled to make instrumentals so what I did for originals was created remixes and then removed the vocals afterwards and got those tracks vocalled!

Lots of practice, mostly remakes, but the point here is that even when you get to a good level it really doesn’t matter if you don’t do all of this other stuff because the music will just get lost amongst all the other music!
