As a child, I was raised hearing my father play this and many other pieces on his beautiful violin. He was a true virtuoso, I was his student as a child. I just found in his sheet music an autographed photo from Zino to my father, in white ink dated May 1949. Such a gift to be raised with my father's violin.
I've had this recording of the Bach violin concertos in my possession since I was a teenager. I've never stopped loving it.

The pianist is SUPERB in this INCREDIBLY difficult piano part. When I read the name I thought it was Josef Lhévinne -- but alas another Levine that I now can learn about and listen to...wonderful!

@pwong702 : The orange RCA Victor label shown seems to indicate a copyright date of 1967. But it is very hard to find and read. You could have helped us by including that date in your notes. (Sep 5, 2020, the date you say you digitized the recording, is not very useful. We want to know when the original recording was made.)

Yes, the copyright date on the label is 1967.

Lovely performance of this lesser-known product of what Benjamin Britten called the most miraculous year in the history of music, Schubert’s final year. Szigeti may have been famous as a virtuoso, but he was first and foremost a musician. I heard him in the early 60’s in a program of three of the Bach unaccompanied works, finishing with the chaconne. No flash or glitter, pure Bach. For examples of his range, try the Berg concerto with Mitropoulos and the NBC, or the concerts with Bela Bartok (and Benny Goodman).

Based on this 1943 recording by Zhou Xuan, I think it is possible that An Bo adapted the melody for his bridge for this version of "Yu Zhou Chang Wan" from this Mandarin-language popular song composed by the Shanghai-based popular song composer Mr. Chen Gexin (陈歌辛, 1914-1961). v=lskmIPzwqYM
