What an excellent performance. Thank you so much for digitizing and uploading it. I assume the original China Record Corporation release would have better sound quality than the Art-Tune (quasi-bootleg) rerelease. It's also notable that the yangqin is not tuned exactly in Western 12-tone equal temperament, but has some distinctive intervals including narrower-than-400-cent major thirds. Baidu Baike says that Ms. Wu Suhua (吴素华, b. Wuhan, 1940), who graduated from the Department of Traditional Chinese Music of the Wuhan Conservatory of Music, was the first erhu player to perform and record Huang Haihuai's "Jiang He Shui."

Yes, the original China Record Corporation release usually have better sound quality than the Art-Tune release. Unfortunately the vinyl record of the original China Record Corporation release of this recording is not commonly available on the market.

I think it is the same recording. It sounds the same, but there are tiny differences in some very small details (I think it is just due to different sound effect from different transfers). There is a tiny sound in the recording of the Dragon's Music CD (in about 20 seconds) but it was removed from the Art-Tune release. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZ-wdH2coN2hhKcsi=Cdx-ve87sZkIOCUt&t=20
