That statue is of the blood angels space marine chapters primarch, sanguinius. He’s one of the genetically engineered sons of the emperor. Space marines are created from their primarchs genetic material. The space marines you play as are the ultramarines and their primarch is Guilliman, Sanguinius’s brother.

From my understanding, the thousand son heretics were human at one point, but were transformed by a god named 'zeench' or something like that, against their will. So now they are now mindless zombies fighting under control of chaos. I dont know for sure, this was explained to me by a warhammer fan aka my friend

Close, they were cursed with an issue where they randomly mutate into a chaos daemon spawn. To prevent this one of the leaders did a ritual to prevent them from transforming randomly but instead only the most powerful psykers became immune while the rest of their brothers were transformed into space dust and are bound to their armor. The ones who are dust are called Rubric Marines and can be revived as long as one of their non dust brothers is present. On top of this you can see their POV in one book where they are suffering and cannot do anything and the desire to just to do something is haunting them

@@BabyEater61 it was Ahriman and he was the chief librarian, the spell he used only worked on psykers. Any thousand sons that wasn’t psychically gifted got turned into the rubric marines.

Honestly, watching this entire play through is actually exactly what a horror movie would pan out. I really enjoyed it. Yeah it was terrible seeing everyone else die when they could’ve been saved but hey, that’s just how it goes!

Hail brother delirious!! You have heavy attack with all melee weapons the power sword has 2 modes you can switch between. All weapons are amazing any bolter shoot exploding bullets and plasmas are just that yknow already. Also that pack on you back is not a jetpack it's a cooling and powering pack for your suit the jetpack are bigger and go over it. Love you delirious INTO THE FIRE UNTO THE VEIL
