Haha, no worries! Your English is great and I fully understood your feedback 🙂 Yes I do sometimes use a hairdryer, but only when I need the decal to fix onto an unusual surface, like that front spoiler for example! I agree with you, getting the decal slightly warmer + using decal softener makes it more flexible to take the shape of the part being covered 😊 Thank you for your feedback, I'm glad you like my work. where to buy toyota corona 94 model diecast?
@KarlScaleModeling10 күн бұрын
Hello Richard, I did an online search and did not manage to find a 1994 Toyota Corona diecast car, not even the European, Carina version. Looks like companies did the older version and also the newer Corona Exiv in various scales, but not the 1994 model. I'll keep looking and let you know if I come across something 👍🏼

What can you do with the gh-10 set? Was looking to buy this along with their drill bits but its sad they're 0.1mm too thick to fit in
@KarlScaleModeling14 күн бұрын
Hello, the GH-10 Burr Set bits have a 3mm shaft and are dedicated to be used with the Dspiae ES-P rotary tool, which also has a 3mm opening. They can be used for various applications like sanding and drilling. Not sure about the drill bits problem, maybe they're 3.175mm. That's also a common diameter when it comes to modeling tools. Hope that helps 👍🏼
@andrewmcdonald878314 күн бұрын
I call it a collet not a shank. Nice presentation, but as you illustrate, not having an adjustable collet places limitations on use of the drill.
@KarlScaleModeling14 күн бұрын
Hello Andrew, thanks for watching the video and leaving your feedback. That's very appreciated 👍🏼 Yeah, collet is the right word for those adaptor pieces. Not sure why I always call them shanks! 😊 Exactly, I would have been happier if the chuck was fully adjustable, like the cheaper one I showed. Looks like Dspiae wanted to keep the use of this hand drill specifically for their Drill bits only. Thanks again 👍🏼

I've had mine for two years now and use it for masks on models. For what I paid - 20 euros - it works very well. Repeatability is a problem if you have to cut smaller circles within a larger one (british roundels), and precise positioning needs some practice cuts but overall no need to waste money on the more expensive models made by the same manufacturer.
@KarlScaleModeling15 күн бұрын
Thank you very much for your feedback, that's very appreciated. I'm glad to hear you've been using this rotary cutter for 2 years and still happy with the way it works. My plan is also to use it for masks on models, maybe for disc brakes and round lamps. Fully agree with you about precise cutting, definitely not always easy when you need those type of masks (like the roundels). Once again, thank you 👍🏼
@chriscraddock83219 күн бұрын
I have tried lots of circle cutters (including the more expensive anodized red metal Dspaie version). Frankly they’re all worthless for cutting anything thicker than paper
@KarlScaleModeling19 күн бұрын
Hello Chris, thanks for your feedback. Judging by the size of the blade and how fragile it looks, I also think that it's intended for thin material. Luckily, I only plan to cut masking tape with it. And maybe my wife will use it for some paper crafts. So we both should be safe cutting what we planned without damaging it 😊

Thanks for this. I have the round metal (earlier?) version which is quite good when set up properly but is difficult to position on small pieces of tape or styrene. This one seems to have some benefits in this area although the sizing mechanism looks very flimsy. I agree with another comment that the sizing isn't as good as it could be - something affecting the one I have too. I also think they should have included at least one extra blade! Perhaps version 3 will be the utopia we all crave?!?! 😊
@KarlScaleModeling20 күн бұрын
Hello Jeff, thanks for watching the video and leaving your feedback. I'm not sure if the round one was released before the one I tested. My friend has one like mine and was getting some good round masks out of it, and that's what encouraged me to buy this instead of the round metal! Yeah measurement adjustment system could benefit from some updating honestly. You could get a perfectly sized round mask, but I guess it will take a couple tries adjusting the rough scale. An extra blade? Definitely 😊 Considering how fragile it is, an extra one would have been lovely! But they sell them separately.. in a set of 3, so that may be the reason why they just give you 1.. marketing 🙂 The best thing would be if the next model has a digital display, like a digital vernier for example, with decimal places! That would be accurate for sure 😊

Very nice. I use the same setup. I love that Dspiae tool. I even made a paint mixer attachment for it out of a metal coat hanger. I found one that fit snuggle into the Dspiae tool's chuck. I bent a small loop on the end. It is about 1.5 inches in total length. Made it nice and straight with the loop centered. I use it on the lowest setting. I am going to make a longer one for deeper bottles. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for watching and leaving your feedback Mike, that's very appreciated 😊 Also thanks for sharing the information with us all about your custom paint mixers! I also love the Dspiae tool, and had never thought about such an idea! Yeah it's important for it to be nice and straight to avoid any wobble that might cause damage to the chuck. Well done and I'm sure you're finding it useful. I do have the Dspiae paint mixer, even made a review about it. It's good, however you need to remove any balls inside the paint jars to insert the appropriate stainless piece from Dspiae. Thanks again Mike 👍🏼

Hi a very good review. I have one of these cutters and it works really well for simple masks as you showed. My issue is that it’s difficult to get the cutter positioned accurately when you want to cut in a particular place. I’m thinking custom decals for example. Dispiae sell an extra positioning tool which I haven’t been able source here in Germany. Anyone here have any thoughts or ideas?
@KarlScaleModeling25 күн бұрын
Hello Michael, thank you for watching and leaving your feedback. I'm glad you like my review. Positioning the circle cutter exactly at the perfect spot might not be easy, from what I could see during the testing. You have to find the exact center of the item you're cutting and then try placing it exactly in the middle of the circles at the bottom of the cutter, which ain't easy agreed. Did you try AliExpress for the positioning tool? I find Ali as the best stocked and best priced when it comes to Dspiae products. Maybe they have it in stock. Now that you've mentioned it, I'm also curious to purchase it for myself too 😊

Thank you for your feedback Wayne, very appreciated. Do you know the model code of the positioning tool? Is it the MT-CL? That looks interesting.
@NigelsModellingBench26 күн бұрын
As with all these circle cutters, this one does not have a fine enough adjustment, as can be witnessed by your second effort which would be useless as a mask as it does not fit at all around the centre.
@KarlScaleModeling25 күн бұрын
Hello Nigel, thank you for watching the video and leaving your feedback. I agree with you about not being able to carry out a precise adjustment. The measurement knob is a bit rough, but I can definitely get better sized masks then shown in the video. Due to the camera I couldn't focus well on the dial markings as I was looking through the display, so I'm looking forward to make several other mask trials. Hopefully these will have a better, more precise fitment.
@NigelsModellingBench25 күн бұрын
@ I am surprised no one has made on with a fine screw adjustment. Like, when the mask is just 1mm too big or small it is very hard to adjust by 0.5mm with just the designs we have today.
@KarlScaleModeling25 күн бұрын
Fully agreed there Nigel, I think the best solution would be if some company invents a circular cutter with a digital display. Like for example the ones found on digital vernier calipers. That would definitely be very accurate up to a fraction of a mm. Maybe in the near future 😊
