@@KarlScaleModeling Yes Karl to watch the 24 hours endurance race for motorbikes. We went also to Tokyo to visit a motorbike superstores with 8 floors. That was for me then Paradise on earth. I bought there a Arai helmet cheaper and 2 months before it went on sale in the Netherlands. My bankcard had burning and melting spots on it😂😂😂 but it was a experience of a lifetime for me then as a 26year old motorsport fan. And like to go back again there with my wife. The RPM of that rotary tool is far to high. You want a lower RPM to allow the polish to work the surface through low friction. At higher RPM the polish becomes thinned out reducing it's thick consistency while at the same time increasing heat between it and the surface being polished. The high speed also increases the chance of burn through. Also, applying the polish directly to the foam pad instead of the surface to be polished reduces sling, which also wastes product leaving less polish on the surface than you began with.
@KarlScaleModeling

Hello there, first of all thank you for watching the video. That's very appreciated. Also, thanks for your suggestions. Both makes sense and I'll definitely try them out on my next polishing job. I'm always looking at ways to improve my polishing procedure, so thank you for sharing your ideas with all of us.

@KarlScaleModeling Ай бұрын
Hello Raphael, thanks for your feedback, that's very appreciated 😊 From FSM I use both polishing pads, the orange and the yellow. After sanding the surface smooth with the 2500-grit sandpaper, I use the orange pad together with Rexin polishing compound. Once done, I use the yellow polishing pad with Autoglym polishing compound. All this is showing step by step in the video. Hope that helps 😊👍🏼

@@KarlScaleModelingYes, I saw that. 😊 What makes me confused: In your video you took the orange and then the yellow one. But on the webside is the yellow one "intensive" descripded and the orange is "moderate" abrassive. And for this procedure you need to go from strong to soft compound. Are your products not the same as on the webside? 🤔 Thank you so much!
@KarlScaleModeling
@KarlScaleModeling Ай бұрын
Hello Raphael, I have just checked the FSM website and realized the misunderstanding. The FSM polishing pads I used were bought some 2 years ago and are not the same as they have in stock now. You can notice that my pads are short while the current ones are longer. Even the packaging is much different. When I bought mine the orange was for medium cut polishing while the yellow was for fine polishing. Now they're the opposite! Even when I feel my pads, the yellow one is much softer meaning that I'm using them correctly. Sorry for the confusion, didn't realise that FSM changed stock. I would have mentioned this in the video if I had known before. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Hope this helps 😊👍🏼

If you do serious bending jobs you definitely need both. The tabletop bendes are also not perfect tools for any job. They are great for longer and bigger parts, but for delicate peaces they are sometimes very difficult to use. For these delicate jobs are better the pliers only or for jobs that need some finishing after first step bending on table tp benders. So to me, both are very usefull and handy tools for PE parts bending and shaping. To me also makes sence, of course if you want to invest that amount of money, to have one bigger and one smaller tabletop bender as the bigger for example by DSPIAE is sometimes simply too big and harder to operate if you do smaller jobs than the smaller benders.
@KarlScaleModeling
@KarlScaleModeling Ай бұрын
Perfectly agree with you right there. Both types of photoetch benders would become very useful and handy in our hobby. I still haven't bought a large tabletop photoetch bender, however I did buy a two in one tool holder that has a mini photoetch bender included with it. I also just made an unboxing and testing video on this tool and I will publish it today 😊 Thanks for watching and leaving your feedback, that's very appreciated 👍🏼👍🏼

Got in to moddeling last week, because of birthday present, very cool gunpla kit, i know how expencive it was and im so afraid to ruin it with wrong/bad tools, so i need to find my first nippers. But i cant decide wich one to pick up DSPIAE ST-A 3.0 or Mr.Hobby MT-106, any suggestions? @KarlScaleModeling
@KarlScaleModeling 2 ай бұрын
Hello there, welcome to the model world then 😊 Gunpla are very nice so I'm sure you'll enjoy the build. Never built one myself but I enjoy watching others building them on KZbin from time to time. Now.. you need a nippers! Well, to be honest I never had a Mr.Hobby or a Godhand one. Always read good reviews about them but have never owned any, so I can't tell you which is best from experience. I've also seen good reviews about the Tamiya ones, but once again never owned. All I can say is that before I got the Dspiae, I always had cheaper ones so for me the ST-A 3.0 was a huge upgrade and I love it! The cut is very clean and quite sharp too. If you want a clean perfect cut, it needs to be a single blade nippers so that the blades don't meet in the middle and you're left with that ugly mark you'd need to sand down. My Dspiae does a great job in this regard so yeah I recommend it. Hope that helps and good luck for your first model journey! Sorry I couldn't be of much help regarding comparison but I can't judge what I never owned or worked with 😊👍🏼

Ciao Luca, grazie per aver guardato il video. Non è necessario continuare a lucidare finché tutto il polish viene rimosso. Quando metto poco polish finisco per rimuoverlo tutto come hai scritto tu. Hope that helps 🙂
