Great job! Polishing is amazing once again!😍

Thank you friend, that's very appreciated 👍🏼 I'm glad you like my work. Polishing was done using the same procedure as the tutorial, only the foam buffers are slightly different because these are longer! But they performed very well too 😊 thanks again 👍🏼👍🏼

oh man, watching you cut that first decal out and how you had the knife going right towards your figure, I couldn't help but think about you cutting off the tip of your finger! Ouch. This is looking amazing. Looking forward to the finished piece.

🙂 haha, yeah when I was making the video editing I also got that thought!! However that video part has a speed of 2.5x and it become much more dramatic than it actually happened! In reality fingers were always safe because I cut the decals very slowly to avoid damage to others 😊👍🏼 Thank you Spencer for watching and leaving your feedback, that's very appreciated and I'm glad you like my work 👍🏼👍🏼

I understand the philosophy of applying decals over a flat surface but I am suprised that you don’t encounter silvering effect with the clear decal film. I prefer to apply my decals after base coat which is a semi gloss sheen. But who am I to challenge what works for you? Hehe
@KarlScaleModeling7 ай бұрын
Hello James, thanks for watching the video and leaving your feedback 👍🏼 I have been doing this procedure of applying decals over sanded 2K clear for years now. Never had any problems and I don't remember ever having silvering with the clear of the decals too. Local modellers at the same club as myself also adapt this procedure, especially when they build racing cars with a considerable amount of decals. Thanks for your concern James, I'm guessing that both procedures work well then, as yours sound great too 👍🏼👍🏼

Hi Karl. Really enjoying your series on the Alpha Models Supra. Are you able to say when the next episode in the series will be released?
@KarlScaleModeling5 ай бұрын
Hello Simon, thank you for your message. I'm glad you're a fan of the Alpha Supra build 😊 unfortunately since my last video I didn't find enough free time to continue working on it. I spent some time doing that miniature Supra then life took over with other priorities. But I should be back in September so hopefully I'll have a new Supra video by mid to late September 👍🏼 Thanks again 🙂

Добрый день! Хорошая работа! Как вы полируете сложные места, например, воздухозаборники?
@KarlScaleModeling11 күн бұрын

Hi, I'd like to know: if you use the same airbrush for 2K or have a dedicated one. What pressure for basecoats and 2K clears. For the Mipa primer do you use H5 or H10 as a catalyst and the same thinner as the clear, V25? So either cold or hot you don't change between slow, fast or extra fast? Thank you.
@KarlScaleModeling7 ай бұрын
Hello Luca, I use the same airbrush for all my airbrushing jobs. It's an Iwata Revolution 0.5mm and it has been my workhorse for the past 8-9 years. Pressure: it depends on the type of paint. If it's pre mixed, like zero paints, I go for about 1.2 to 1.4 bar. Certain model paints like Alclad or AK, I lower it to 1.0bar too. For 2K, I always like to airbrush at 2.0bar. That's the best pressure I find for my set up and the way I mix the 2K. This varies depending on each user though. For the Mipa primer, I use HS25 Hardener and V25 Thinner. All from Mipa too. Primer code is 2K HS 4+1 Filler and clear code is CC8. Yes same thinner is used for both 2K products. No I don't change products depending on the temperature, those are the products I always use both in winter and summer! Hope that helps 🙂👍🏼

@@KarlScaleModeling I love your answers! But where are you from?
@KarlScaleModeling7 ай бұрын
Thanks 😊 I'm from the tiny island of Malta! Winter is not very harsh here but Summer can be quite agressive! However I still manage to airbrush whenever it's required using the mentioned 2K paints and basecoats 😊👍🏼
