Must have 18" subs with dual 15"s and horns in order to achieve sonically acceptable stage to audience heart thumping sound. Anything less is pure nonsense anything more is just responsible behavior

I once placed the microphone in the kick drum during a band rehearsal because we didn't have a spare microphone stand and pointed it towards the head, away from the drums. In between there was approximately 1cm. There was some reverb in the mixer and it sounded amazingly good and crispy deep. 👌🤘

Perfect. I hope I can get something close to this with only 4 mics 😂 Do you have overheads? I’m thinking I can do 1 WA47jr overhead, sm57 on snare, beta 52 on kick, sm53 as knee mic to get a little more kick sound and some of the low end from my two toms

The bad news of Christianity is that we are all sinners 1 John 1:8 says “if we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and truth is not in us” sin is just disobeying gods law and destroying gods creation so me personally I’ve sinned alot I have stolen things and hated other and I’m not perfect and I still make mistakes Roman’s 6:23 says “for the wages of sin is death but the gift of god is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord” So bad news is we’re all sinners and the penalty of sin is death and hell but the good news is The good news (gospel) is that Jesus Christ who is Perfect died for our sins was raised up on the third day and only through Jesus can you be saved you can’t save yourself and when we truly believe and have faith in Christ god will change our heart we will want to love god and obey god and put god first and produce fruits of the spirt like love joy peace kindness etc so what I’m saying is true faith in Christ will result in a changed life And in order for us to accept gods gift of salvation we have to believe in it this is no causal belief but one from the heart and it has to be so strong it makes us hate our sin and actively turn away from it (how can we be saved from sin but still love it) and Christians call that repentance the Holy Spirit leads us to repentance and you can be forgiven of all your sins cause of Jesus and he is the only way to heaven

As you move it inside the kick drum you also loose some of the high frequencies from the Hi-hat and the snare

I love the sound of an open bass drum, but whether it works in a recording really depends on the song and the context. The same goes for a muffled bass drum. One advantage of adding some muffling to the drum is that it eliminates the 'basketball' sound, even if the muffling doesn’t actually touch the drumhead or dampen it directly.

Good project at a bargain price. I bought a cheap old pearl Maxwin kit, cut down the the shells to depths of 6, 8 and 10" for the bass drum and use it as a compact kit for certain gigs and practice and it gets the job done. But the double headed kit sounds warmer and rounder and is kept for more important live situations!

Which 70s? There’s basically two types of 70s drum sounds and not all are the dead, puffy, dry sounds. There’s SO much 70s music that had rather open sounding drums. Look at a lot of the early 70s rock and prog stuff. Drums sounded like DRUMS.
@curly_wyn
@curly_wyn 19 күн бұрын
Lmao. So drums have to sound big and echoey to sound like drums? No thanks, I will take that nice and dry and dead 70s drum sound over that reverby big and echoey shit like 80s gated reverb any day
