I have two Steeldive mas 62 and field style. Both are easy to the eyes and reliable. My dad grew up in the Depression. So it rubbed off on me. At the end of the day, I can buy high end stuff but I don’t. I buy what works. Same with my automobile’s. Over the years I’ve collected many watches. I enjoy the used ones with character/ patina. Dad used to say it’s not wore out it’s wore in.

Bought my Depthmaster for $60 on Amazon in 2014. Still going strong 10 years later and looks great. I wear it daily. Crazy thing is I get more compliments on it than I did my Rolex Submariner that I sold a few years ago. I can't figure that one out....😂

Got one of these with a black dial from Argos for ~£60 new about 15 years ago, this was the first revision with a Miyota movement they switched to a Seiko movement in later revisions of the Chronospeed. The Miyota movement is an excellent timekeeper. Rotary quartz watches are good typically Japanese movements are used, but I would avoid there Automatic movements.

I recently purchased a POINTtec "IRON ANNIE, Chronograph, TEMPELHOF 5862-M" watch online with a 5130.D Ronda quartz movement from Startech. When I received it, the watch did not work at all, and only started for a period of 24 hours after setting the time, to stop working again. And so on. After returning to the after-sales service, I had to wait almost 3 months to get this watch back in working order. The repair announced by the after-sales service consisted of simply replacing the Quartz movement completely (for which I had to wait 3 months) Never again a POINTtec watch for me!

I have both of these, the Lorus is more accurate, has survived two accidental 40 degree cycles thru the washing machine and is more compact on the wrist when worn with motorcycle jacket and gloves. The Sekonda is easier to set, feels lighter in weight and the glass is recessed below the case, two years of use, no scratches on the glass.

Good Offering from Sekonda i cannot deny that and cant comment on the piece as do not have one but i do have the Lorus n wow this Piece is a LEGEND !!! Ive 3 lume dial pieces and me lorus is the brightest... The spec it offers for its price point is just a no brainer... Saying that the crown on the sekonda looks awesome ..Good comparison of two budget field/pilot watches..Great review my friend.

Yeah, that Lorus is a legend for sure and has a lot of fans and gets plenty of respect from most collectors. Thanks for watching

I really like the black dial version but the reason I didn't get it was because I already have three black dial field watches, one being a Seiko Solar field watch, a Citizen Eco Drive field watch and lastly a Lorus Titanium field watch. All have 100M water resistance. I have the champagne dial Hamilton Khaki King and what a beautiful watch it is. A dressy field watch that you can wear with anything really. I wear mine often with casual wear and even a suit on occasion.
@jlwade87Ай бұрын
50 meters is 165 ft. Which means it can be completely submerged in water up to 165 ft. Who is diving deeper than that. This watch is conpletely water proof. Dont know why people always get this wrong.
@somewhereintimewatchreviewsАй бұрын
Yeah! Er that's not how the water resistance rating works my friend. 50m WR means it will be splash proof and okay in the rain or maybe the shower if you forget to take it off. If you actually took this down to 165' it wouldn't survive long.
@jlwade87Ай бұрын
@@somewhereintimewatchreviews I see 50 meters is the amount of pressure the case can withstand and not the depth. You should still be perfectly fine swimming with this watch on though
@somewhereintimewatchreviewsАй бұрын
I wouldn't take it swimming! As you move through the water even at only a few feet the water pressure increases. Its just physics.
@jlwade87Ай бұрын
