Cadola Noumea. 200m vintage inspired diver. Another sub £150 bargain?

The Cadola Noumea. a vintage inspired 200m diver with a very wrist friendly set of dimensions. Is this sub £150 watch as good as the competition?
there are a few non Ali express watches appearing in this price range, which I have to say I am really enjoying.
1. The quality is quite a bit better.
2 they tend not to be 100% clones of another brand.
3 they don't take a month to arrive.
4 the after sales is usually much easier.

Yes I got the 62mas vibes as well. The prices of these vary wildly, certainly on the Mainspring Boutique website they do so much so its almost become a bit of a "game show guess match" at home haha

I have both this, and the Tahiti diver, and I too, was first baffled by the plastic on the bezel and the layer or gunk left behind once removed. I enjoy the piece. The movement, at this price point, doesn't bother me, the one thing that did, however, was the caseback. Perhaps it's a map of Noumea but without context, it just looks a mess. Could have been better executed. Overall though, I'm happy with it, a unique piece that I plan to keep. Thanks for the review.

A pretty cool looking piece but would definitely benefit with the updated movement if that’s their movement choice generally. Are we sure that bezel isn’t Acrylic 😉 Great work my brother 👍👍

Agreed that the upgraded movement would have been better, not a deal breaker for me though. Haha yeah that bezel coating definitely caught me out.....but at least no ladyboys were offended in the making of this video (it was close though!) 🤣

I would be interested to know the history of the brand. Since 1946? Especially as I've never heard of them before. As for the watch, with that movement it is a hard pass. Also, the bracelet QC with that sticking link would put me off. Top work again Adrian 👏

It's definitely got that eye candy thing going on😊 The hacking version would have been good but it doesn't really bother me too much. At least this one isn't doing that Miyota stuttering thing.

@@somewhereintimewatchreviews You just reminded me that I was thinking of the wrong watch! My Cadola DOESN'T hack AND it stutters...on occasion. I think there are still many of the older 8215s available for production, so it might still be some time before they're ALL hacking versions.

@Watch Witt haha yes I'm sure there's probably a pretty big stockpile of those older 8215 movements to get through same with Seiko's 7s series they still keep making an appearance, I'm pretty sure that Lorus are also using those now as well.

Good honest review my friend. Price point is way off. Compare it to a Millar Suba 300 that offers SW200, Sapphire glass, ceramic bezel, on the fly bracelet adjust by 18mm, insane lume and a case that sits amazingly on top of 300m WR for 499 gbp.

Thanks, Ray. Yes, the msrp of £580 did make me raise an eyebrow they certainly aren't at that level. At the current £139 though they're OK. I think from my point of view though I would far rather one of these than something from Ali express & it's good to see alternatives at that seemingly magic under 200 pricepoint.

Steer clear of Cadola watches. Just purchased a brand new Cadola Intrepid Automatic Stormy Green and the movement completely stopped after one day of wearing in the company is giving me the runaround with warranty. I just threw $350 out the window.

It has the Miyota 8215 movement in it which is not too bad considering the price. It's usually a pretty reliable movement so I'm very surprised.

Initial impressions, looks great, although personally, not a big fan of the gold highlights. Also, under the macro shots, the brushing looks a little course. Never heard of these guys and know idea from which part of the world they come from.

The gold is quite heavily done on it, but I have to admit that was one of the things that drew me to it, but colour choice is a very subjective thing. I think this was originally a US based brand, but I think these days it's someone just resurrecting a vintage brand name.

I think you're spot on about the non hacking at the current price. I'm not sure what that full price is all about though 580gbp I would expect more than an 8 series miyota under the hood if I'm honest. But overall I think its a decent watch. Thanks for watching Mal.

Definitely a bit expensive if you mean the silly 580 retail tag! But priced at £139 which is what they currently are that's pretty fair. The lume is a bit of a letdown, it was as I expected though as the lume has been colour matched to the indecies, that never really works that well.

oddly enough this reminded me of a spinnaker, does have that vibe...I've seen these (brand) on watchgang too I believe. Definitely too bad about the movement, but other than that looks like a solid piece. The colour of the gold plating on the coin edge bezel looks (at least from your camera) like real gold, or more like it than some that I have seen (I'm thinking one of my paganis lololol). Those double baton indices do look a little strange, almost like the border around the indices (or gold rectanble they sit on) looks a little off to me?

Yes, you're right they've made an appearance on watchgang & also a couple of those TV shopping channels. The shape of the indecies does mess with your eyes it made me do a double take more than once haha but everything does actually seem to line up pretty well. But overall not a bad watch as long as you don't pay that ridiculous msrp 😂
