Hey Yolanda not sure if see this, My work place in Ireland are opening new factory in Winston Salem in the summer and they have asked me if I would like to move out temporary that may lead to permanently, how would you recommend there for someone with no family, not buying a home etc and I don’t have a license lol

Yolanda, you are amazing! I'm in the process of looking for my first home. I lived in Charlotte (apartment living and I hated it too) then moved away for a year or so to tackle some debt and now I'm debt free with a high credit score, so I'm ready to move back. A friend also sent me information on the NC 1st Home Advantage Down Payment, which is exciting, and I also prefer new construction. Currently, I'm working on my savings like you mentioned so I will be ready when the time comes. And I will be consuming your videos. This was so unbelievably helpful! Thank you so much!

The more paperwork and the faster you respond to them when the need a document even if they ask again, just do it asap. They are overloaded with people, it’s a nonprofit as well . Once you get approved they are paying a lot for people. Big deal if you have to send a document again or whatever. It’s worth it. People need to be patient and make sure they have all their ducks in a row. I would say have everything uploaded and ready before even approaching the program so you can go through the program the fastest. The more prepared you are, the faster the process is. Look up other KZbin videos on what they required first

This has been my experience overall with Winston-Salem. It has what you need with some extras, but not much beyond the essentials. Overall I like it, but, if you want a city of fireworks, move to the Raleigh-Durham area or Charlotte. Many people from here appear to view this place like people from small towns view their communities, not a city.

Hey I'm in winston salem and I'm going through naca as we speak

Your experience in the lack of networking events with a diverse audience is spot on. We used to have the Venture Caffe at the old Baily power plant but it was killed by the C word. I don’t know if there’s any other meet and greet like that but I wish there was. WS is a very divided city for many reasons, mostly the Highway that divides it. The people are great, hard working and friendly. Unfortunately the division that We experience has a lot to do with the people guiding the city that care more for the lame downtown than the other wards. It’s an ‘old boy’ kinda thing and most people from the South, Southeast and North don’t venture downtown. It’s expensive, not too hip and kinda unreal. There are a lot of empty store fronts. You may want to recommend to your viewers that it may be a good place to invest in a business, bring ingredients, ideas, to breath some life in to the downtown and around the other wards. I am from the little city of Hudson NY where the influx of NYC business, a lot of Antique stores revivified that city. Big houses may be nice but you may want to look at the older homes on streets that kids can still play on and getting people to move in to these neighborhoods which have a charm you won’t find in the old Mc Mansion. Just a thought from a guy on Peachtree. You are more likely to see our diversity and unity at the gas station where everyone holds the door open for the next customer. Thanks for not mentioning the crime. Peace
