Thanks for the insight. I was chopping my samples down to individual pieces and assigning each one from the loop to a pad to warp so that I could make the entire loop fit as perfectly on tempo as I could. Now I can use the edit zone and turn from current to all feature. Something I knew nothing about. Thanks. I just subscribed. One other problem I'm experiencing is the lack of being about to get my Live 2 to connect in controller mode to the software. For some odd reason the x86 driver will not install when following the second step of the process to install the 2.11.3 software update. At step two I received a message the Microsoft driver file failed to install. The file was found on my (C) drive, user, "name", app data, local, temp, inside a newly created folder. I tried to do the install from there only to fail again but was allowed to uninstall and repair. It completed the install. But When I tried to do step two again I was messaged to complete step two again. I was in a loop to repeat the same process over and over. Please help me.

In your opinion, what would be the key factor in you chopping using the Warp feature vs. using a Key Group?
@labandlegacy4 жыл бұрын
A key group is for pitching "one shot" sounds across the keyboard, and can be used in conjunction with the warp feature to keep the length of the sample the same across the chromatic scale. Warping a program as I did here is for manipulating a series of chopped samples in real time without having to manually timestretch or calculate/do any math. Simply adjust the warp parameters until the chops are to your desired length and pitch.

Can you use re-pitch to warp ? Like In Ableton for example
@labandlegacy3 жыл бұрын
I don't know what re-pitch is bro, but in MPC all you do is hit the warp button and you can adjust pitch or speed with the parameters in program edit. The way I showed in the video allows you to change the warp/pitch of individual slices so I would imagine it's similar.
@hamad.learns3 жыл бұрын
@@labandlegacy Thanks for the reply! What I meant is say you want to slow donw the sample to match your BPM, you would do via slowing it down. Kinda like what you do slowing down a record or a cassette. As you do, the pitch also goes down, without creating artifcats. hope that makes more sense now?

Why is it different when your in controller mode than standalone for that “best warping sound mode” ? Why can’t they integrate that with standalone mode yet? Is it cpu issues?
@labandlegacy3 жыл бұрын
Warping requires a lot of processing power, but somehow Maschine Plus has achieved it so it's definitely possible. The Akai Force has a way to bounce the warped samples in Elastique Pro offline, so that's a decent workaround. Hopefully will come to the MPC lime soon.

Peace be with you....Question : When you save a project using the better elastic time stretch in controller mode, will the sound quality still be the same when you open that project up in standalone ?
@labandlegacy3 жыл бұрын
Not by default. You should flatten the pad or bounce the loop once you have the desired tempo and pitch. I never go from software to standalone, that's kinda backwards. Standalone is more like a scratchpad, software is where you get things polished.

@labandlegacy4 жыл бұрын
Yessir. Real time timestretch. Probably the only reason I never got into Ableton or Serato Sample, lol. I'm seriously considering getting a Force though, especially if it gets the ability to control Ableton down the road.
@Bezowinz3 жыл бұрын
Question about working in the other direction; preparing a sample in controller mode, then working on a beat in standalone... Is it possible to make these types of edits in controller mode with the better time stretch and save it so that it doesn't need to be time stretched in standalone? I'm looking to avoid using the lower quality time stretch when in standalone.
@labandlegacy3 жыл бұрын
You can either lay out your chops into a loop on a drum track, then hit the pencil and "bounce to sample" or "bounce to audio track" and you will have a new, printed loop. Or you can go into program edit and flatten the pads you have stretched at the top of the program edit screen, but you would probably have to flatten them one by one. You can also manually time stretch the entire sample in standalone which has much better quality. I believe Akai will bring over the Force's ability to use Elastique Pro in standalone though. It was added in the Force 3.0 update I believe. Don't know why they're dragging their feet on it, but I suspect they're trying to sell as many Forces as possible before they do it.
