It would seem easier to diss the entire windshield approach and install a camera that feeds an internal screen that reveals a real time image.

I now remember why I check your channel every once & a while; It kinda relieving to confirm I don't suffer from ADHD & can follow your train of thoughts all over the random distracting action. On the other hand, please consider that some of your audience may suffer from ADD/ADHD 😉

OH FUCKING YES! I had a Anet A8, mold it with around 1500$ worth of parts, had so many mods, it looked like frakensteins monster. Well got a Cobra 2 Pro and are so amazed. Out of the box it worked. It do good to perfect quality without any tunes or tweaks. Its amazing

"Why are we doing this?" and "What benefit is there to doing this?" are ALWAYS good questions to ask at any time on any project. That's a lot of work and burn out must be a real problem. Best of luck! 👍

That DBW controller you threw to bin. Oh boy! I bought it to my project car when I first saw you using it in your project. Fundamentaly it is good but like you said, manuals are lacking, had firmware and tuning software problems and PID tuning never went through, it had to be done manually. Manufacturer was very keen to help, but whole project took so much time and frustration, from both sides. I think the problem is that manual is done by someone who knows really well how it works and forgets that users most of the time has only basic knowledge and cannot know how the controllers logic works. But when you get it to work it is good. Luckily ECUs that can handle DBW themselfs are getting "cheaper", unfortunately this time it wasnt and option...

Ok, was I the only one that immediately thought Colin Chapman and Matt look closely related? If he had shown that exact same picture of Colin Chapman and said "And this is a picture of my dad and/or grandpa" I would have been like "yup, that checks out".

I admire your humility. I think building such things tends to generate humility. I wonder why my dad, who did such building, never got that humility stuff. Oh well. You hate bleeding brakes too? Small world. There must be clever kits for the process. Brake bleeding has been a major pain for too long.

Checkout IP67 Cat6 Ethernet cable. You can run USB directly through them and those are extremely cheap and very robust :) Impedance is slightly different, but that doesn't matter for short lengths. Just make sure to use one twisted pair for each of the 4 wires of USB2.0

Why not put a sprung pin next to the gear shifter and if it touches the gear shifter it grounds through it, and you get a neutral light? :)

There is legit no reason to spend 10k+ on a tool box when us general has the same warranty and aside from the opening mechanism feels exactly the same.. no I probably can’t stand in my drawer on my us general but who fucking cares?? It’s the same warranty regardless..

Dump the mega squirt and go with a Holley or even better FuelTech. Much better you won’t regret it. I did and it was a night and day difference. Well worth it. Better tuning. Can-bus wiring! Just look in to it!!! Nice project good luck stay safe!

Since you are not going beyond 1000 mph and have less than 10 gears, why not use a single 4 digit screen with 1 digit for gear and 3 for the speed? 😉👌 Mediocre mechanic engineer here too 🤣

I have a Bamboo A1 sitting in my basement that my wife picked up on black Friday sale for me awaiting Christmas day, can’t wait to start playing with it. I have a few other projects that I’m trying wrap up before can focus on it but in meantime collecting free print files and learning cad program so I can create my own. I have been fabricating/building/engineering things in wood, metal, leather, and other materials for @ 25 years and I’m ok calling myself a maker.

In November 1965, American driver Art Arfons set his third and final land speed record driving the “Green Monster,” achieving a new speed of 576 mph. Arfons retained that record for only eight days, after which Craig Breedlove reclaimed the title by being the first man to achieve 600 mph, in Spirit of America Sonic 1.
