The effect seems more suited for the horror genre, other than that I liked it.

BTW the basses and cellos are a 3rd apart, not a 5th.

Merci !

Nice Video! How do you make it to where the instrument plays consistently/ on the beat?
@grmusicnyc29 күн бұрын
I used quantization when needed (and a bit of humanization) and using the right articulations helps too.

Always interesting to see other composers work flow. More videos like this one please. I think the trombone was a bit too loud, although I recognize so much of anyone’s music is subjective to the audience.

Yeah, but what if all you hear is piano to start with? How do you get from "imaginary orchestra" to piano, then back to orchestra?
@LearnCompositionOnlineАй бұрын
Learning with a teacher that studied orchestration in depth
@grmusicnycАй бұрын
If you hear the orchestra in your head i would suggest starting by isolating the melody and the bass and writing that down as a piano sketch. This should help you identify the harmony of what you've written. Then you can start the orchestration process from there.

@LearnCompositionOnline Nice to see you advertise your services here mate... 🙄
@jonathanpaulpano28 күн бұрын
1 trick I always use is I always start from a flute for the main melody just to lay the song foundation. Then I add low range and mid range. This is very useful for adapt tempo. If you have a certain tempo in mind, start from the bass parts then low then mid. If I'm not hearing that "excitement" when making music. I might add a percussion instrument to keep my momentum going. 🤣
