Extremely on point. Went to college during the Vietnam War. It was a big part of my education. BTW, in case anyone is wondering, the tune is "Byker Hill" (and probably many other folksongs).

Two of the greatest ever songwriters ... Phil Ochs, and Tim Hardin. Both died far earlier than they should have.

Of course we all remember Cat Stevens’s hit, but of course the song is straight out of church hymnals-words by Eleanor Farjeon, to a Gaelic melody, _Bunessan_per the Episcopal Hymnal

Not bad at all. Got here looking for Frank doing a more recent (than the his studio version) version of this (solo), like from the mid 60s onward. No luck so far. Maybe he just didn't do it very often.

I think America might be well served by a new leftist musical movement. Hell, with TikTok most likely not getting banned any time soon, the songs could spread with the right videos. I doubt any could get TikTok dances made to them (even if we don't limit the genre to folk and bluegrass) but with how the election went, a lot of folks are gonna be looking for something to latch onto and give them hope these next four years. This might be it.

It seems to me that the men who have to hate, and twist away our freedom where "Law is their weapon and treason is their cry" could easily describe both the mainstream Biden Democrats and the leftist so-called Progressives, and that the average MAGA guy or gal would look at it that way.

Albeit intimidating and not to be f'd with, Von Ronk seemed like such lovable teddy bear of a man. I just can't see much resemblance in Oscar Isaac's Llewyn Davis character who (despite loving the movie) was caustic, bitter and mostly unlikable.

Tim Hardin stole the show. Eric Anderson, Tom Rush and DVR were good. Bob Gibson was on point. Seeger and Hellerman were as usual. Melanie, Yarrow, I was never was a fan of either. The eulogies from Ochs' sister and Jerry Rubin were touching.
