How did you find using the Sawyer mini as an inline filter - did it slow/clog quickly? And how did you backflush with the clean side of the mini in the tubing - remove tubing each time? Thanks!

I wondered but I guess figured you were busy and out of cell phone range or both. I mean when I was in Italy I was too busy having fun to post to IG most of the time. Glad you were safe and having what looks like a marvelous time in those crazy steep but gorgeous alps. You know those shepherds are in seriously good shape to live and work up there.

Wow! You really covered some steep climbs. But oh so gorgeous, especially at the end of the day. I’ll bet your feet and knees were sore after coming down so many thousand of feet is such a short stretch. Thanks for posting

It was such a tough day…. 5,000+ feet of climb! It’s not the vertical ft though, it’s the grade steepness!

This brings back such wonderful memories of completing the AV1. That hike down the steep section and then climbing up to the top to the Refugio where the views were unsurpassed was memorable. We went through Alpine Adventures for maps and an app that was incredibly helpful. After hiking this stage, we stayed in Cortina for one night. Thank you for taking the time to share the wonder and beauty of the Dolomites !

douglaspo - HRC on the PCT was their channel name when they hiked the PCT in 2021. They have kept the name but they are now on the Alta Vista in Italy. All of which would be apparent by looking at previous vlogs.

Your are not too lucky with the weather - you may see everything from rain to sunshine in the next days. How did your time match the one indicated on the signs? - there is a formula to calculate this time from elevation gain/loss and distance. Calculate a = distance /4 km and b = elevation gain / 300 m + elevation loss / 500 m. The smaller value of an and b is then halfed, and both are added. If a<b (much up and down) the result is a/2 + b If a>b (more leveled) the result is a + b/2 This result gives the estimated time in hours. If you are typically faster or slower just multiply the indicated time by your personal factor. I guess Sasha knows that she can legally drink beer and wine here?

So looking forward to this trip. I think that going from either a hiker to traveler or reverse is so beneficial. So many land and need all logistics laid out. I know when I did Paris I just said Ill figure it out when there. As a hiker Im use to that madness.
