Sort of made my badonkadonk pucker when you showed the view over the edge of that catwalk.. I've always wanted to hike up there and lord knows I'm not gonna get there sitting here watching KZbin vlogs but it does inspire me. Glad to see the weather is being nice to you and the views are making up for your rainy, foggy and cold start to Washington. You 3 were just in my backyard, I'm only 2 hours west of Rainy Pass. You would think having so many hiking options I would be out doing that instead of on here watching but I'm still acquiring the necessities to just do a simple day hike.😄💖

Start at kendall katwalk trailhead and hike 4 miles up and you're there!! The view is so incredible, once you pass the rocky field its a little sketchy for a split second but just move slowly and you'll be fine. Not much further until you're right in the middle of the cat walk c:

I’m so glad you are getting good weather for the northern cascades. It’s so breathtaking. Cant believe you did the cat walk so late in the day. This is the part of the PCT I most love watching hikers pass through the most. It reminds me of the Italian and Swiss alps. Hope you get to see mountain goats 🐐. What a great way to start your last week of trail by such amazing resupply from the best trail angel.

Just blew my knee out on that section- most difficult section of PCT I've ever done but the vistas were totally worth it! I even said the same thing- LOTR all the way! So maybe not the wisest choice of sections for a "Couch to PCT" adventure! 😆 I kneed to come back for a do-over after PT hopefully gets my knee into better shape. Also got some bear action near Waptus River/Lake- I wonder if it was the same family...? I had to bail out via Waptus River Trail cuz my knee refused to cooperate anymore but would you say the second half of the section is slightly easier than the first half of the section? Im considering going SOBO next time.

I hope you will do a Documentary of the Hike. It would be a lot of work but I for one would love it with insights and thoughts voiced over. Here's hoping!!! Happy For you that you are getting some nice views and one of my beloved Rainier! As a suggestion, retrace your steps to Harts Pass or Rainy Pass rather than use the Boundary Trail to Ross Lake and hiway 20. That is a unmaintained trail with lots of blow downs. Others are not having fun with it. Harts Pass doesn’t have much traffic either. Hope the views cooperate with you the rest of the journey. You both of doing so great! I would like to know how those elevation gains compared to the toughest in CA. Thanks and take care, Bill

Southern WA was by far the hardest section of trail morale-wise. Northern WA one of the toughest physically. But so worth it!
