The moon is gravitationally bound to us. It completes a rotation cycle around the Earth in approximately 29 days. This means that half of the time, the moon is not on the sky, and is on the sky for other people around the world.

To anyone thinking about buying this telescope, I would just say you ought to watch the review of it that Ed Ting posted on his channel in 2022. There are a lot of issues, especially with some of the accessories that are supplied with it. He does not like it at all, and includes a number of alternative recommendations for instruments that are better and easier to use.

Thanks for showing us the location. What a relief. This being the only video I could find to show where to look.

Do we need to make any adjustment to the equatorial mount or does it automatically follow the Earth's rotation once we have it all set up?

Love your channel, I bought the celestron explorerscope 114az last year as a complete beginner to telescopes. I've upgraded a couple of eyepieces which have improved viewing experience. I can't make any detail of Jupiter. I'm currently in two minds, do i keep scope and get a goto wifi mount for it, along with my camera mount to aid astrophotography or do i go down the route of a smart telescope? What are your opinions?

If you’re shaky like me avoid anything over 10x magnification, i find 7x is already pushing it. If you’re a glasses wearer look for something with “long eye relief”. I have celestrons fixed focus 7x50s and they are a godsend with such decent eye relief for a cheap and not well thought of pair of binoculars that I can easily use them with glasses. However once you get older your eyes will start to struggle with resolving the fixed image and this where you’ll need standard focusable binoculars. Myself I now much prefer my 2x40 super wide starfield binoculars. I love scanning the nights sky with lower magnification binoculars. Also celestrons “solar safe” binoculars I enjoy greatly

Hi, does this work with coated optics as well? I have a nextstar SE with a coated lens and it makes me nervous to user wipes like this on it.

114LCM like other Celestron 114/1000, and 127/1000 telescopes have bad optics (Cheap spherical mirror, and 2x barlow integrated into focuser). For similar price it's much better to buy computerised Skywatcher 6" Virtuoso.

Bien cordialement. Gwenael

I find the amount of false color in these large models way too distracting to be enjoyable. The false color (chromatic aberration) with these larger instruments is much worse than with smaller binoculars like 10x50's. This is due to the higher magnification and light gathering ability. Then I found Orion's 20x80 with the ED glass. These binos remove most of the false colors and is well worth the increased cost. I know Orion is not around anymore but I'm sure the Celestron ED binos would be an improvement as well.
