OMG Thank you soo much for these posts! I received one of these for Christmas several years ago but could never find anything that explained how to use it or anything! Its just been collecting dust! I'm finally going to be able to use it! Once I buy the pieces that went missing.

In the same boat. Still difficult to use but I finally was able to get a clear shot of the moon. But it had also been collecting dust in my room for years.

How do you look through the "finderscope" when aligning, if the telescope is angled upward? (i.e. mine is at 41 latitude) and the finderscope lens is like facing down the ground and so close to the body of the actual scope, its hard to get my face/eye in (also, I was trying to use a Stop sign or street sign to do the alignment, i.e. per the instruction manual but I have try a chimney now per your advice, thanks for this). Also, was is the other similar "dumbell" silver knob right next to the "altitude" knob you display at @2:14? I noticed this also screws and unscrews, but wasn't covered in the video. It's directly on the side with the latitude markings (i.e. that go from 0 to 90 degrees)

To anyone thinking about buying this telescope, I would just say you ought to watch the review of it that Ed Ting posted on his channel in 2022. There are a lot of issues, especially with some of the accessories that are supplied with it. He does not like it at all, and includes a number of alternative recommendations for instruments that are better and easier to use.

At last someone else who recognises a bird Jones trash telescope. Ed reviewed that scope and as he says, no-one like it, I hate it so much and shame on the companies who take people's money

A couple of questions. Say, for example i want to see mars, what all i need to adjust on this telescope Does polar align simply mean to adjust latitude? Do we need to adjust the altitude, or would RA and Declination would be enough?

How high should the tripod be extended?

Do we need to make any adjustment to the equatorial mount or does it automatically follow the Earth's rotation once we have it all set up?

I don't know how anyone could possibly use that spotterscope you cannot get your head in there to to see anything , any suggestions?

Thanks for the video. Could you please show how you polar align and also how to locate a specific part of sky with RA details from Stellarium app using EQ mount? Thanks a lot in advance.

Yup! You should be able too! I was able to a night ago. Though I need to get a stronger magnification myself

Im about to start saving for a telescope... is this a good option? i mostly know what I'm doing
@astronomyscope9 ай бұрын
Hey. Personally I probably wouldn't opt for this. Are you looking for a manually operated telescope or would you consider computerized options?
@EduByteTVofficial9 ай бұрын
@@astronomyscope I’d prefer computerized, but i’m not looking to spend over $300

You have to align the finderscope with the telescope. This is a good video on how to do it. Hope it helps. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGTdeJqojpymgZosi=W8lX08jdjTe0LVkg

Omg, not another Celestron Powerseeker 127 EQ reflector. Why do people spend their hard earned money on bird Jones trash telescopes. Far better to invest in binoculars, planesphere and a red light torch.
