Why didn’t Shinso take control of deku and make him untie him

okay i don't know anything about mha but... this is masterful you can just tell that the man sitting in the chair has considered it before, he's considered taking that deal and joining the villains and to an extent? he even ADMIRES what they have to offer, what they can do, and what they're going for. but he's still adamantly against joining. you can tell he's sat in his room before, just sitting there for hours on end contemplating what would happen if he joined. he's comfortable enough to admit that he's thought about it, he's comfortable enough to admit that he respects what these people have to offer, but it simply isn't worth losing what he has. the only time he seems to even remotely listen and even consider is when it's shown that... he wouldn't be losing friends nor family. he would just have new ones. yes, it's a lie, and he knows it is, but that promise still speaks to him in a way he can't help but at least think about
