I have been in the Alaskan wilderness as a fishing guide/bear viewing guide throughout much of Ak, elfin cove area on a clear day with the huge coastal mountain range is hard to top! Seward and kodiak are similar!😉👍

I live here in Alaska, our salmon the past approx 20 30 years have gotten much smaller! Simple.

Fun fact that I don’t 100% know is true but I’ve been told. Rock fish and large mouth bass both came on to the planet around the same time they are both basic fish because they suffer from baro trauma when pulled up from the depths this means that lingcod are more advanced because they don’t suffer from baro trauma

Crushed it!! What time of year were you guys there? Shortraker is on my bucket list and I'm all ears for tips on how to get them!
@dojofishing37816 ай бұрын
Hi Mike - We went in early July. As for tips on the shortrakers - just head up to Tanaku LOL. That’s not a promo - we’ve just consistently caught em there - sometimes more - sometimes fewer . Give Hayden a call - think they might still have a date open . Thanks for the comment.

Man I cant stand lazy fish cleaners.. Try removing the guts without bursting them on the meat and remove the slime with the sharp side of the blade running it down the fish.. My clients must be very lucky to have a guide who cares about the fish they bring home.. AND KEEP YOUR TABLE CLEAN!!! WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU

Glad you enjoyed the vid. Just give Hayden a call at 425 281 6073. He and Hannah pretty much run the operation these days. He'll steer you in the right direction . Think they're on Pacific Standard Time - 3 hours later than the East Coast. Catch em up !!!

Hey, why were guys releasing them monster black fish?
@dojofishing37818 ай бұрын
Good question - Cause the big females lay lots of eggs . And when the big males mate with the big females you end up with bigger and more Blackfish : genetics . Also the big ones don"t taste or cook as well . Thanks
@babybull8228 ай бұрын
@dojofishing3781 I'm clear now. I was wondering because black fish are delicious. Thanks for clearly that up. That makes sense.

Tanaku Lodge is simply amazing. The lodge is a first-class operation. The staff and crew will exceed your expectations. The food/dining experience will leave you wondering how breakfast, lunch, and dinner hold a priority status during your stay. The fishing is incredible, the owners (family based) at Tanaku have the very best captains and crew. The hard-working staff on the boats as well as the at the lodge share the same principal and that is to Make Possibilities Real for each person. I'm on my 4th consecutive year @TanakuLodge. I typically return home with fish to last 6-9 months for a family of four (2X per week). This outfit is beyond professional. I highly recommend a quality deep freezer for your catch. Cheers!!
