What’s up Kev , thinking about getting that night Ranger. Is it too heavy for porgies and sea bass?

do you have best luck with the ball (chicken rig kinda thing) or would a 8oz bucktail keep bottom?
@dojofishing37813 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response . I've seen them work but I avoid the heavy bucktails . I get concerned about the hook getting dislodged during those violent head shakes big fluke manage to generate . That head shake married to a heavy jig is a recipe for disaster ( just my opinion ).Heaviest jig I'll use up there is 6 oz. and my go to is the "chicken rig kinda thing " you mention . Tight Lines

Hey dojo, what is that fluke rig you're using? I see a lot of double dropper loops but the knot looks different, its a single strand any idea the name of the knot/rig? Big fan, thanks
@dojofishing37815 жыл бұрын
Hi there Ronnie -Its sometimes called a Grandbanks Knot. Pain in the ass to tie and I can only manage to do it succesfully if I use a rigging needle to get the loops to lie tight.There are a few youtube videos on it but those approaches don't work for me. Jigging World carries packs of ten (rigs only ) but I'm not sure if they're tied with floro which is what I use . As soon as I can figure out this DM feature I'll reach out and send you a few of mine .In the meantime you might want to speak to folks at Jigging World. Thanks for watching and tight lines !!!

@@dojofishing3781 Wow that would be awesome and thanks for the info. I had a successful season in Montauk using a #30 floro hi low rig with two 1/4 poison tails but your rig seems to be more natural in the water according to what I have read. Any chance you have an instagram? If not I feel like someone like you should make one to post all of your pictures from fishing trips! Again big fan and thanks again for getting back to me!
