@dojofishing37815 жыл бұрын
Hey there Lance . Yep it was kinda insane. We shipped all the fish back . We only take carry on when going - Lodge really provides everything ( boots , rain gear and good tackle ) . We do ship in some of our own tackle but thats because we're a lil nuts . So - the first 50 lb box ships as a normal checked bag and with overage "penalties " we fly back the other two fifties for about $180. Still a fraction of would be shipper cost and the fish gets off the plane when we do. You'll have to raid fast - have already donated most of the fish to charities and annoying relatives ! good to hear from you .

@toadb18504 жыл бұрын
They filet all the fish that you catch into about 2 pound filets, then they vacuum seal the fish, and flash freeze it for the freshest quality possible, when you catch salmon they will leave a portion of the skin on.

Similar to were I started fishing in Alaska. Various lodges, some Deluxe with float planes to take you to what you want to fish. Fished rivers , oceans , streams on some 25 trips. My favorite besides one place ( LRL) was on my own boat alone for three months. Caught hundreds of them. Fifteen Salmon over 50 no fishing story. This place looks like they are serious about catching fish.

@dojofishing37815 жыл бұрын
Hey there. We travel light - carry on only. Lodge is awesome -they did our laundry mid week. So the first 50lb box checks in as regular priced luggage. Figure $35. The two other 50lb boxes get over weight “penalties “. Total for my 150 lbs was about $185 . After disembarking in NY picked up my boxes at regular baggage claim conveyor. Fish was still frozen solid. Thanks for watching and making comment. Tight lines !!!

Not if they are making people fish for halibut in 1,000 ft of water in Alaska lol! We caught fish in the 40-100 lbs range in 150-250 ft of water quite easily when we lived in Ketchikan, Alaska. We also caught a ton of fish in that size and much bigger in 200-250 ft of water out of Seward, Alaska.
