This is a funny & accurate take, I totally get it! But in ways, these things still have the possibility of being an individualized / customized experience. I log into Ig once every 3-4 wks, haven’t been overwhelmed with it there. Sure, Spotify tries to plug the song in my playlists, but I skip it when I truly don’t want to hear it. Did I watch the video? Absolutely! A few times! Was excited about it too lol. But then I moved on. When the think pieces show up in my YT algorithm, I selectively interact with them. We can even thumbs down or ask it to ‘suggest less like this’ if we’re really ticked off with it. In the 90’s, we were at the mercy of the tv/radio which were the largest sources of entertainment. Nowadays, I don’t listen to the radio and I barely watch tv. I stream what and when I want to. I’ve totally missed most of the Kendrick/Drake beef, by choice. Thankfully, we have options these days! ✨

@@BLUEGUTTAThe addictive effects on social media are definitely a big conversation. I’m a news writer so I literally have to know what’s going on at all times. Twitter for example and other outlets are a big part of acquiring news fast in real time. I have to live on social media to pay my bills. It sounds like we are battling personal experiences here. For me, for example the discussion of not like us is on my timeline, where I have to be, in the newsroom where I have to be, group chats, and with family and friends who want to discuss it IRL. Even sports and cultural writers and personalities I follow are discussing it and then using the term “not like us” in there discussions. Women who’ve I’ve gone on dates with want to talk about it. For me that’s EVERYWHERE. Sure it may not have gotten 90’s level placement but the song, the beef, and the overall topic is everywhere

Despite the trauma of our history, we have been able to stand. If the story ends with us standing, it's traumatic but not trauma porn. Trauma porn is the celebration of the trauma itself, reveling in the trauma, wallowing in the trauma, and _staying_ in the trauma. Sadly, that's something that's crossed broad lines in America. "The Handmaid's Tale," for instance, is women's trauma porn.

all do respect, but inflation has always been part of life here and every other developed economy. research the average car price in 1960 then 1970 then now. Or the price of a hamburger in 1960 then 1970 then 1990. research the dual mandate of the federal reserve and target inflation. a positive inflation rate means the average cost of every day goods, housing and real estate will continue to go up. also research wage growth from 1960-1980-2000-now

Drake played himself thinking that "Family Matters" would scare Kendrick. He had no plan after that. Its exactly why its the only diss track with a music video, and why he ends the song with "ya dead, ya dead" and mentions going on vacation. He treated the battle like it was Meek Mill all over again. That left Drake with no choice but to pretend that he was feeding information to the mole to feed Kendrick, which led to "Meet the Grahams". He was checkmated and tried to find a way out. But no one was buying it.
@Traviscasetalks

I flat out agree. I honestly don’t think there’s any “real” dirt on Kendrick that he hasn’t mentioned already on his albums very similar to Cole. Even then with what they put out there is par for the course for male rappers. So what real ammo does Drake have in a battle except to make unproven claims? Meanwhile Dot has years of ammo built up industry that has nothing to do with him
@CallmeLQ
@CallmeLQ 2 ай бұрын
@@Traviscasetalks I truly believe the worst part about it all is the fact that even if there was more dirt to pick up on Kendrick, Drake would have failed to do the research in order to utilize it. Because we saw the way that he used the information that he actually knew, it's like he never even bothered listening to Kendrick's discography. Top Dawg didn't rob Kendrick's father, so the birdman and Wayne line is dead lol. Kendrick was not molested, so the "mother I sober" line is dead lol. Your video is extremely, extremely well done. And I'm glad that you are putting out such thoughtful content. Please keep doing what you're doing..

I think Drake's first mistake was getting into a rap battle when you are a pop star your the most recognized name in hip hop but If Kendrick says forget the big three its just big me, so what? Your still the biggest name you can only go down lol, his ego got in the way and he paid the price. I do give him credit for competing and not backing down from Kendrick. He's still a great artist but he don't be flowing like Kendrick, it was an unnecessary move and he got baited into it.
