Clarified instructions for installing the camshafts: The video explanation can be a little confusing for some people, so here are the explained instructions on the sprocket timing installation: 1.) Rotate crankshaft to "F" and check front cylinder camshaft sprockets. If the sprocket timing marks are in the right spot, you're done with the front and go to step 2. If the sprocket markings aren't in the correct spot, turn the crankshaft 360 degrees to "F" once again then check. If the timing marks are correct this time, you're good to go and go to step 2. If they still aren't correct, then manually unbolt and adjust the sprockets to the correct spot WHILE KEEPING THE CRANKSHAFT AT "F". 2.) Reinstall the front chain tensioner in case the chain skips a tooth when adjusting the rear cylinder. Rear cylinder HAS to be timed at the "F" mark, not "R". Align the front cylinder timing marks in step 1 FIRST before checking the rear cylinder. Starting from "F" where the FRONT cylinder camshaft sprockets are aligned, rotate the crankshaft 360 degrees until you hit F again. If the REAR cylinder sprockets timing marks are in the correct spot, then your timing is correct. If not, manually adjust it so that it's correct WHILE KEEPING THE CRANKSHAFT AT "F". 3.) Reinstall the rear chain tensioner. Double check everything. The front cylinder is a full rotation of the crankshaft away from the rear cylinder. Rotate the crankshaft to "F". In general, either the front or rear cylinder timing marks will be aligned BUT NOT AT THE SAME TIME. Then if you rotate the crankshaft 360 degrees to "F" again once more, then the other cylinder will be aligned instead. If this is true, then your timing for both cylinders is correct. Rotate the crankshaft fully several times to triple check if it rotates fine. If it's binding, then that means the timing is off. DO NOT CRANK WITH THE STARTER BUTTON, otherwise you will damage the engine if it's mistimed.

You didn't show exactly where the bolt was on the right-hand side underneath underneath the airbox it takes it off the throttle body I can't find where it is

on my sv 650s 2005 only the bottom ones move when i pull the throttle the top ones don't move at all they are in a half open position also my fast idle isn't working do you have any advice on how to fix these problems?

Heyyyyy buddd. Does the fuel empty out of the fuel pump if i diconected when my tank is full. obviously a little will come out but my question is will 10 liters of fuel just drop on the floor? thanks

if you do such thing its good to change all closer to hogher vslue cos clearence decrease with time and mileage and if ypu left those close to lower value you must adjust again more often 😉i setup in me sv intake on 0,18/19 exhaust 0,28/29😉👍🏻

Nice. Just bought the k5 model and old owner let the gas filler cap latch corrode like crazy so I had to drill it off and get a replacement. Inside of gas tank is fucking gross :(

Hi! Is 2022 and your video steal relevant on the 2021 SV650. I was put a handlebar riser on my bike, and without your video, I’m not sure I was able to change the throttle cables, but thank to you, that was an easy task. Thank you so much.🙏

what an absolute PITA. I have a 09 sfv650. this guide was great. I managed to leave the throttle body on and just deal with the shit show of space for the rear cylinder.7 hours because I didn't have to do any new shims on the rear cyl. probably woulda been a 10 hour job if I had. glad it's done, see ya in 14,500miles lol

Glad to know this works for an SFV 650! I have the same one you do but mines at 12,500 miles rn. It’s been a beast for the 3-4k miles I’ve put on her. I’ll be doing this at 14,5 mark myself. Any pointers you would give?

@@danielramos7556two notes: First, I took off the air box and to do that there's two 3mm hex bolts holding it to the intake runners. Get a long ass hex key (screw driver, ideally) or prepare to spend 45 minutes using the normal length to slot into the bolt and then turn it with pliers like I did. Second, the cam chain tensioner needs to be reset to installation position before you reinstall it. The manual shows how in 1d-36 Good luck have fun

Hey, I've used a couple of your videos to help me fix my 2006 SV650S. You give really good instructions. I just saw on your channel that you live in Phoenix? I live in Phoenix, too, and thought it would be cool if we rode around together or something. I don't have any friends with motorcycles, so it gets kinda boring. Lol.

Good analysis bro, this is so helpful. I have managed to do mine after changing rings and cleaning valves for it hasn't been working for some years. Can u help on how to make ignition? Mine doesn't have anything, I just have to gather everything and start making ignition for me to have spark
