SV650: How to remove the Gas Tank!

Howdy! In this one, we're going to take off our gas tank!
To take of the gas tank on a suzuki 2005 (gen 2 aka pointy) sv650 first you need to get the side panels and the seat off. Then you remove the bolts from the tank so that you can prop it up. After you prop up your gas tank, you can start unplugging things and disconnecting the hoses. For the Fuel line, make sure you pinch the white tabs, they are on both the front and back side of the connection. Then you should be able to take out the 10 mm bolt that the tank hinges on and pick it up and just walk away with it!
This is a very easy removal and you shouldn't be scared to do it. Just be patient and use something to collect all the bolts you take out. If you have a camera, you can use that to take pictures or video to keep you on track when putting everything back together.
After you get the gastank off, you can sand the gas tank, then paint the gas tank, or just take off the gas tank to access other parts of your suzuki sv650. Good Luck!

Heyyyyy buddd. Does the fuel empty out of the fuel pump if i diconected when my tank is full. obviously a little will come out but my question is will 10 liters of fuel just drop on the floor? thanks

What brand/make are the exhaust pipes on bike??? i have just picked up a sv1000s and would like a set of pipes that tuck right up out of the way like these pipes do!

Question for the two hoses I noticed you only had the larger one connected mine was the same way that second hose should be connected I would assume?

Nice. Just bought the k5 model and old owner let the gas filler cap latch corrode like crazy so I had to drill it off and get a replacement. Inside of gas tank is fucking gross :(
