I've watch a few of your video's and wondered why you take a standard photo with a longer shutter speed for light trails when this camera has the Live Composition which is ideal for those kind of shots? Just curious.
@DavidFlowerOfficial
@DavidFlowerOfficial 11 сағат бұрын
In short, it's because it gives a different look. Also live comp requires multiple shots and is a much slower process overall. Finally after the many years of shooting this way without live comp I find it's a feature I don't really have any use for. Thanks for watching 🖖

I agree with most of everything that you said except for one point right at the end when you said that bigger lens cost more, I've had full frame, APSC and M4/3's and found that the latter cost on average more. Anyhoo, best wishes from here in the sunny (I wish) climbs of Yorkshire.

Yes it will work fine. The only thing to consider is that the sync stabilisation doesn't work across the brand so as it's a Lumix lens you will be using ibis only , but the ibis is so good that on that lens you'll unlikely see any difference 🖖

It's a mirror that sits on the cameras hotshoe. It's at a 45 degree angle so when you flip up the camera screen it's visible from in front of the camera. It's not perfect but it's enough to get your framing and focus🖖

The camera screen flips up to 90 degrees which makes it tricky for vlog style filming. I believe a couple of the models after this one have the screen that goes all the way up to face forward. Maybe the a6100 and a6400 but I don't know for sure

The Konica Hexanon AR 40mm f1.8 makes a great companion to this camera. The Konica AR system's short flange distance means the adapter tube is short, leading to a compact combo with roughly a 60mm equivalent focal length. In terms of size, it gives the NX1000 / NX 30mm f2 combo a run for its money.

I like a lot about this camera the only thing that really puts me off is the small sensor. I would love one of these with a 1" or even a M 4/3 sensor it would be great. they manage to put them in other small cameras so I do not see why they cannot do it with this.

To be honest my OM System OM-1 has given me lots of extras to get good photographs, especially in the dark, but I very gladly share photos taken with my 8MP Olympus E-300 online. Those 8 MP are more than sufficient. (I think it is more frustrating to post an 80MP photo online only to see every detail crushed by the compression 😁)

I try to avoid those high megapixel cameras. I'm happy with 16-24mp. All the extra megapixel cameras need more expensive glass and requires so much space and resources to store and edit. With 16-24mp I can get thousands of decent pictures on a memory card and be content with the quality. Unless I'm shooting professionally a lot of the new cameras are overkill. It's probably why so many people are shooting digicams. I know a few people who don't want to have to do a lot just to take good pictures and the camera manufacturers are just not getting it.

I used to own the A7RII and I thought it was fantastic for adapting vintage lenses but I always thought the native lenses were too expensive. Once I got a job that didnt require using my own camera I began to realise that I didn't need all these specs so I downgraded to a Fuji XT2 and even then I thought I wasn't gunna use half of its features. After that, I downgraded to a Olympus EM1 MK1 and Canon 5D Classic, then I went back to Sony and got bored of it quickly haha. Now I currently a Lumix GX80 and GX1. I seem to enjoy Micro 4/3 a lot more these days than full frame cameras and they're a lot cheaper. It really depends on how you plan to use your camera as you say. But then again, I've gotten extremely picky too haha.

I've got a bit of money put by to spend on photography. I'm torn between getting an old camera and a few lenses or a new entry level camera with just the slow kit lens. All I'd say is answer those 2 questions and go from there. I do both photo and video for work and my newest camera is almost 8 years old and I'm more than happy with what I get from them. It is nice to have a shiny new camera, but for almost the last decade, the "improvements" have been incremental and in some cases, depending on the use, completely irrelevant. My personal approach would be to go with something older and proven and put the cash you save into lenses. Thanks for watching 🖖

It's good to know about the card adaptor, not sure if you remember me telling you I bought the A390 over the A350 because it took SD cards, the A390 packed up a couple of weeks back. I have 4 A mount lenses, price combined was less than I paid for the body. I do have an adaptor so I can use them on my sony nex C3 but only manual. I also have a Lumix G2 with the 14-45mm lens, I have a decision to make, do I get another A mount body, upgrade to a nex 6 or 7 or A6000, or get the 45-200mm and 25mm lenses for the G2. I only ever post to social media and any of these do the job 😁

@@DavidFlowerOfficial That's what I was thinking, the nex C3 i have a ttartisans 25mm f2, cracking lens and with a 10mm extension tube makes a great macro lens, I have that focal range covered. The G2 is the camera I take out most but it's lacking the reach I sometimes need so it would make sense to get the 45mm-200mm lens, plus I can upgrade the body at a later date if I want to. I don't need the 25mm f1.7 just yet.

@DavidFlowerOfficial
@DavidFlowerOfficial 19 күн бұрын
Without checking the specifics I know the mpx were increased from 16 to 20 and both the ibis and af systems were improved and after the 2019, V3 firmware update to the MK2, it brought further improvements from the EM1X. With all that said though, I've not actually used the MK1 so it may well be a fantastic camera and all of those things the MK2 improved on, might not be all that important depending on your use case🖖

My own selection of favorites: Olympus 14-150mm - probably the best all-purpose/travel lens ever for any format, weather-sealed ultimate flexibility Olympus 45mm f1.8 - portraits, street, you name it Olympus 100-400mm - spectacular super-telephoto at a price that won't make your nose bleed I supplement these with: Olympus 17mm f2.8 - maybe not as sharp, but almost pancake in size and great for shooting from the hip Olympus 75-300mm - my wife's wildlife lens, so light and small for what it can do Olympus 14-42mm EZ - an incredibly good kit lens, when all you want is the least you can carry I have a couple of other 'just for fun' lenses, such as a 7.5mm fish-eye, for those situations when I want to see outside the box... And why so many Olympus? I use a pair of OM-D EM-5 Mk II bodies, which I think are a sweet spot in the evolution of M43 cameras. I will be upgrading (eventually), but the beauty of M43 is that most of these lenses will simply shine more brightly on a better body. Oh, and my daughter has the 14-42 MK II manual zoom and the 40-150 Mk II on an Olympus Pen - I passed them along!

Are you using the FE 50mm 1.8? I'm thinking of getting it for my a6000 but know on a cropped sensor it will be the equivalent of 75mm... How have you found it for street photography when a lot of people say you should have 35mm or 50mm?
@DavidFlowerOfficial
@DavidFlowerOfficial 23 күн бұрын
Yes, it's the FE 50mm. For my preferred look I shoot between about 85 and 135mm most of the time with full frame. There's no right or wrong, just different. If you're happy with the field of view a 50 gives on apsc, use that, if you prefer the 35, use that. A lot of people say a lot of things about focal length and it either comes from personal preference or they're just repeating something they heard or read. My advice if you're unsure, is to just use a kit zoom lens and find the spot where you're most comfortable and you like the look of the most and go with that. Thanks for watching 🖖

I still use a 450d and occasionally a 40d, because I like old gear and I am the kind of nostalgic guy. Some of my best shots I took with that 450d. But I have to say that I like the look of the files better out of the 40d. It has a better highlight roll off and a more organic noise pattern. But I l use the 450d more often because it is just so light and so dead simple to use. Maybe I look out for 400d for my collection. The good old days.
