Gari, this (pre-boarding control) is a requirement of the British government/authorities 👀. And because the flight is operated by Ryanair the control is done ahead of the boarding.
@GariSullivan3 күн бұрын
Can you show the evidence of that? I have flown into the UK from many places around the world. I have even flown in and out of Morocco to the UK many times over the last ten years. This is the first time I have experienced this type of security check

There have been screwups even at Prague airport post-Covid. They were advising to arrive 3 hours before your flight at one point, though it seems to have normalised again now. My best score is boarding a flight having arrived just 30 minutes before at the airport (I was younger then, now I'm more risk averse).

Some controls are for checking belongings some for papers and some for face rections. Because Morocco and most muslim coutries are unfortunately targeted by terr.orist netwoks based in Europe and roaming all the world. I usually go early to the airport to give enough time for these checks too. My all respect and understanding of your true feelings. I like to follow your videos and get inspired from them. Thank you Gary.

Sir I fly very often with Ryanair , but I just want to correct you the fact of going to the check in with a printed version of your ticket is not dependent on the Moroccan airport but it is rather a requirement of the company ....and of course I fully agree with you that the Moroccan airports need a lot less security and more smiling officers ....I too hate going through all of that security hassle as if I am a criminal ....it is not a nice way of receiving foreign tourists ....I just arrived to Morocco from Algeciras and it took us 2 hours of tight security check on the boat before we were allowed to land and yes they asked me about the number of my CIN card (knowing that we don't have such a thing : national ID card in America ...and yes I forgot once in Marrakech airport the custom agent even asked me about my boarding pass ...which is is ridiculous ... one in Agadir they asked me about my hotel booking ...I have never been asked such silly questions when entering Spain Portugal or Italy ....as I travel with a strong American passport ....but I have learned to always have my hotel booking printed before entering Morocco ....despite all this I still love morocco and I am still willing toi spend here most of the year , even if I have to exit every 3 months and then come back

All of the points raised by this video are all valid points. I have flown in and out of marrakech atleast 15 times since 2016. There are frustrating amount of checking and rechecking of documents and personnel. Most airports in the world, if there is a flight that is about to depart and it's gate is about to close, they usually announce it on the intercom and passengers of that flight who are still queuing in immigration control get priority and get called to the front of the que or a separate booth so they don't miss their flight. Morocco is a wonderful country with beautiful people, once this airport shenanigans is fixed, it'll be a world class country.

Ryanair always send an email every time I fly out of Marrakech warning to😊😊😊 arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before flying. One time I hit a queue 200 meters long outside the airport security check. Even though I was 2 hours ahead of departure time, i was still too late, boarding was closed when I got through. That was easyJet. About the officer that checks you stamp to see if the previous officer stamped your passport correctly.... He saved me a lot of hassle one time,in my opinion.... because his colleague didn't stamp my passport correctly. So next time I would attempt to leave the country I would have had big, big delays. Marrakech airport lesson.. check your stamp before you leave the desk.

Hi Gary, I can understand your frustration with the long lines and lack of response from the airport staff. I think the best strategy is to always leave yourself some extra time, and pack your patience. I travel frequently in and out of the country, and I’ve never had to show a printed version of my ticket, not even an electronic one. Anyway, hope you made it on your second try.

They're redeveloping the airport to increase the number of travellers next year, but the size of the airport isn't the only problem the number of security checks are too much you need to pass through 6 security checks before you get on a plane. Thankfully the government just appointed a new head at the administration that runs airports in Morocco and he's promising to improve the experience in Moroccan airports. This is our biggest problems you'll find Moroccan bureaucrats traveling all over Europe but never implement what they've seen as practical solutions in their respective administrations

We are dealing with the same situation in germany with Ryanair then we have to print our flight tickets and we have to show them to the checking personals. And I think that you should know that you have to be at minimum 3 hours in the airport before your flight. I do my best to be more than 3 hours there. But beeing there late and expecting getting your flight isn't logic. We have once lost our flight in Frankfurt in one of the best and biggest germany airports.

How frustrating! Though there is pretty much the same number of security checks in eg Bangkok- with someone double checking the passport exit stamp' ,and there is entrance security at many airports- The difference is that each check there is fast and efficient.

Your take on that Bus situation is absolutely spot on. It was labelled "The Banality of Evil" a book on Eric Eichmann the mastermind of the German Rail system. That was needed to organise the transportation of People to Concentration Camps and the Gas Chambers. Eichmann protested that he had never killed anybody. Only his actions facilitated the death of millions. It's starts with Blindly following rules.
