Your front sight as installed by the factory was too tall.😮 At 50 yards with most ammo, your rear sight shoukd be about two to three notches from the bottom on the rear sight elevator Depending on the bullet weight and load used. I was yold by Henry when they looked up the spec's that both their Big Boy Rifles as well as their large frame 30-30 & 4570's front sight are .500" tall. Yet on one I had, in the large frame had a .580" tall front sight. The sight is stamped on the bottom and I confirmed it to be oversized when measured. That rear sight having to be raised to it's highest setting is due to that front sight being way to tall. Mine shot 5" low at 25 yards. Lord only knows how high it would have shot at 50 or 100 yards.

My bond is a more polished Texas variant in .38/.357. I love shooting the .38s; easy recoil. The thing is a hoot. I often keep it in the kitchen with me at night when the front door is open, and only the screen door is closed (no lock). You never know. Because the Bond is a peculiar weapon unless you have actually fired one, even if a thug walked in and picked it up, I doubt that he would figure out which thing was the safety, or that the gun must be cocked first. This makes it a propriety weapon, and 2 shots beat no shots. --Old Guy

Man. I let a Taurus Raging Bull in .44 8 3/8 barrel slip away from me years ago. I went into my LGS feeling like I didn’t belong there. An old man came to me and said you are veteran. I said yes. We talked for about two hours about guns, bears, our travels, shooting and hunting. I told him I saw that gun and he let me pick it up. It felt so dang good. I gave it back and said maybe another time. He said if it’s there he will gladly sell it to me. He was even going to hold it for me if I would be in within the next two weeks. I couldn’t go that route though because I was leaving to Ga for about a month in a few days. We said our goodbyes and I left. I made it down the street to the intersection at a red light. It was like the Angels were talking to me. That was the longest red light ever. While waiting I was thinking man, she was gorgeous. Two tone. I thought about getting it maybe next month but then I was like you already let one get away. It was like transformers at that moment when Megan Fox walked away from Sam. Player literally came on my playlist next through the speakers. I looked in my rear view mirror and seen nothing was behind me, put my truck into reverse and drove backwards like 20ft into the first industrial driveway. Then I put her in drive and went back. The same Gentleman was like you are back. I said I have to have her. He said I figured. She is no RedHawk but she is good enough for the price. I got it. He kept it for me until I was coming back. As I had to wait for my BG check to pass. He let me know they would hold it since I paid. I took a chance. When I came back and got her……it was like getting some for the first time again. I was in love cheesing from ear to ear. Dang fine gun. I was thinking I wanted a 10mm for capacity but that 6 shooter just called out to me. She hasn’t given me any problems. I do see a lot of people having issues sighting them in. It is usually over or under. I didn’t have any trouble. Was pretty much spot on from factory.

Maybe cut a few strips of fairly thin rubber, like from and old inner tube, and start with Elmer's to lightly glue it to the butt plate? Could help in speed shooting, and not ugly up such a purdy carbine. Just keep the strip less wider than the buttplate and no one will know the diff.
