Hi Jennifer, I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. I hope you’re able to give this hike a go if you haven’t done it already as it’s a lovely route. Just be sure not to do the rake section of the route in wet conditions as it would be extremely slippery. Thank you so much for giving the video a watch and also for dropping me a comment. It’s very much appreciated. All the very best, happy hiking. Mike

Awww thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I did take some footage of the descent down Gamlin End but I did not include it in the video. It was pretty much all gopro footage and even with the inbuilt stabilisation it turned out quite shaky so I ended up not using it. I only filmed a couple of minutes of it anyway as I realised pretty quickly that it was much more important to concentrate on the descent down over the loose terrain rather than obtaining footage for my video😰😂 Thank you for taking time out to watch my video and for dropping me a comment, it’s very much appreciated🙂 Happy hiking Mike

Hey thanks for taking the time out to give my video a watch. I hope it was of some help to help plan your trip. The whole route would probably take around 5.5 hours to complete. However it took me a wee bit longer due to having to stop all the time to film. A wild camp on top of Red Pike sounds fantastic. Just pick your day as it’s pretty exposed up there in the wind. Thanks for the sub it’s very much appreciated. I’ll be getting some more content up soon hopefully once I’ve recovered from an injury I acquired last year. Thanks again for the watch and the comment and I wish you a wonderful time on the route. All the very best Mike

Hi, It’s not particularly too hard to find your way. However the area can become clagged in with low cloud all of a sudden on overcast days and you may start to veer off course. Best thing to do is to stay near the edge of the plateau and use the edge as a hand rail along the south rim. People tend to come unstuck when they venture in towards the middle of the plateau. Obviously bring a map and compass and a gps if you have one just in case. Hope you enjoy the walk if you do decide to take it on. Pick a clear day and I’m sure you’ll be fine. Lots of people to ask along the route if you’re unsure. Thanks for watching and happy hiking🙂 Mike

Hi Rowan, Thanks for the comment🙂 I personally don’t see it any harder or dangerous than Sharp Edge. So if you were quite ok with SE then you should be ok with JR. There is a dodgy step across that has to completed but after that it’s pretty much ok. There maybe a little bit more climbing involved than Sharp Edge but most of it is inside a small gully. Just make sure you do it on a very dry day as there is always a bit of seepage out of the rock. Thanks for watching my video, I hoped it helped🙂 Happy hiking Mike
