I have been very satisfied with the NH Vik 1 tent and their rectangular down sleeping bag, which i use as a quilt in mild temps. I enjoy finding the best budget gear for my purposes. Gear list videos by primadonna "influencers" who have zero experience but can afford the highest-priced items out there for their very first hike are incredibly boring.

I had a real problem with my Black Diamond Mirage 2 person tent with moisture coming through the floor with any hint of even light rain or setting up on slightly damp grass

Add a couple packs of mustard for muscle cramps. The mustard will help neutralize the acid build up in the muscles that is causing the cramps. I would also change out the black gloves for a pair of light blue. Nice kit!
@kellymorris10342Күн бұрын
I was going to say the same thing about the gloves. I believe I heard Skinny Medic talk about using the blue or orange over black as you can see blood faster and easier if you're wearing them while assessing someone else, or even yourself.

I'd never heard of this tent until today when I got it in a charity shop in the UK for £10/$12! I had no Internet to research so glad to see it was a good deal!

I know I’m late but the long unblinking stare while pad rapidly deflated was dry humor gold. 😂 I got the Rapid SL for 111 used this week after looking at allllll the budget options. I sleep cold, and I’m a female side sleeper. My hips and shoulders can be sore after air mattress sleeping. sleeping bag is a synthetic budget buy so it balanced out for me-priorities.

I have both of these. Use the Nitecore in my UL pack, use the Anker for travel trips like weekends, work trips. A new one I just got is a "VEEKTOMMX" that is really light and small. I am starting to use this now for every day stuff if I know I will have to use my phone a lot. Good option so far!

I have an Anker Nano 30W for backpacking. It's heavier (215g) but that includes a usb c inbuilt cable. It takes charge fast which is important for grabbing some power at short stays such as cafes. It can be got for about half the price of a Nitecore NB 10000.

I just found a Vaude tent, pricey but I'm sure it can't keep out torrential Quebec rain. I think I need to silicon/solvent the fly sheet. It may cost as much as $700 new.

Got mine last season and love it more than any other tent I have had in over 50 years of eating dirt. Excellent video and agree with everything you spoke on especially the quality and care taken to construct it.

This review is what I want to see from everyone who reviews it. I really appreciate how you show the comparison photos and plenty of close up photos of every feature and detail of tent. I am a huge fan of Dan and his xmid tents. Absolutely hands down the most well thought out and engineered tent that has ever been designed. It is amazing how much thought was put into the design of these tents! I also love that he is continuously responding to and considering user feedback and making those critical changes that enhance the user experience.

Consult Dose of Dirt and company: What if instead of using a Thermarest Z Lite Sol mat and an inflatable one to achieve greater insulation, we use 2 Thermarest Z Lite Sol mats? In that case, would it insulate better from the cold than with a normal one and an inflatable one? My brother and I have 2 Thermarest Z-Lite Sol mats and when my brother doesn't come bivouac with me, I have often thought about taking his mat as well, it's just that the inflatable ones don't quite convince us. And I would like to know if with those 2 foam mats I would sleep well on ice/snow or very cold surfaces. We usually sleep outdoors to see the stars and in winter we usually sleep at temperatures of -5° to -26° at maximum cold in which we have slept outdoors. That is why our concern is to isolate ourselves well from the ground. Thank you very much and greetings!

It's worth getting a dedicated medical bag so you don't have to drop out all the content of your first aid kit, whenever you need something quickly. Especially if it's during bad weather or at night. I will also recommend: Trauma Scissors will cut most items, and it has multiple usage. Tourniquet can be a lifesaver (better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it). Emergency Whistle in case you get stuck somewhere, the sound will travel much further than your voice can. Glow Sticks in case of an emergency, to illuminate a cave or under water (tie in string to pull it back up). Hydrogel in small packs for burn wounds. Hand Warmers will help to warm your hands or feet up quickly, and can be a great energy boost in cold weather. Cold Packs in case of a larger swelling injury in hot weather, but can also cool you down in a heatwave. Disinfection Wipes will clean your hands faster than you can put gloves on, and they have multiple usage like cleaning cookware, knife, or scissors, and you can use it as tinder afterwards.

Great review and I too own this pack and really like it. The giant mesh pocket in the front for my tarp and rain gear is great to keep them away from my dry stuff . I also use a tube I cut off of a water bladder and fed it through a sports cap on my water bottle so I don’t need to take it out to drink . That little pocket on the strap is crazy small and shallow and I put some snack bars in there but it’s the weirdest thing about the pack . I have only used it for about 20 days on a few different trips and been pretty happy with it as well . When I do take a hammock setup with a warm TQ and UQ as well as a tarp and my dogs things I need to go with a bigger pack but for a small tent and warmer weather, it’s more than enough.

I've used this a fair bit now, I love it and I hate it... With weights up to 10kg for summer wild camping it is my favourite and go to bag. The moment I go over 10kg and for example 16kg on a winter wild camp I then hate it. I find anything over 10kg it just isn't comfortable, I mean really painful after two days but it's weird as it's soooo comfortable when the weight is 10kg or less. The quality has been fine and it's still looking as good as new. Great video by the way. Cheers from the UK

I have been wearing these for 4 years. The quality has completely gone down hill. I bought a pair just days ago and brought them home to wash them. Wore them to work and when I took them off the seam on the rear pocket already came out.
