@@movemorenowjames Ya, things are going well! We're in Virginia not too far from DC. The landscape is definitely different than Utah, but I'm loving it!

Looked like a great night out. I dig the portion with no talking or music. I like the second half as well, but tis always fun to do something a little different. Gotta love the Shenz. Ive spent a bit of time up that way. Did a little loop up around Hawksbill in the fall. LOTS of great hikes within a days or even half day drive. Hit me up if you feel like takin a walk. S

Thanks, man! Hitting up a trail some time would be cool! Maybe this summer or something! You are right, there are tons of great hikes around here! I missed fall just barely, so I am definitely looking forward to that this year!

Looks like a fun overnight! Was this a last-minute weather-mandated change of location? (thought you were going to SNP) Kudos to you - I think I would have chickened out and slept in the shelter (maybe strung up the tent as a wind block?) I think this style is a nice change of pace, but I like the "talkies" as well!
@DoseofDirt2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Chris! Yes, I forgot to include the 'talkie' at the end that explained our change in location. The plan was Mt Marshall in SNP, but we ended up leaving a little later on Friday than we planned and the snow came sooner than we were expecting. It would have taken us an extra hour to get to the trail head in SNP and the hike would have probably taken another hour. Since we weren't sure of conditions at SNP, it seemed prudent to go closer. But now we have our next trip planned already! We definitely had more confidence knowing the shelter was nearby, and we had the thought of just sleeping up top in the shelter, but I REALLY wanted to try out my Triplex! Ya, this type of video was fun to put together. Definitely has a different pace to it, like you said Thanks so much for watching!

I have to admit that I REALLY enjoyed putting the no talking video together. One, because I found myself really listening to nature more so I would notice those moments and scenes to capture, And two, because it really helped me go back and relive the trip. I definitely want to make more like this, so glad to know that other people enjoy them as well! Thanks for watching!

Hi Jeff I was wondering what out jacket you were wearing it seems like no matter how much money you spend they all wet out. I would prefer something that didn’t wet out that wasn’t 300 buck because I have 4 kids I have to buy for as well any thoughts let me know.

Hi, looking for a car camp tent good for wind sometimes do snow but from car. is there a car/backpack 3 person ? may try backpacking but replacing my 8 man coleman one minute tent too big and just me now and may take a few peeps once in awhile. TY
@DoseofDirt2 жыл бұрын
Hey Frank! The only other 3P I have is a very budget friendly Bessport 3 Person. It's about $90 on Amazon. I've used it on a lot of trips, including backpacking and car camping. I think it's between 5-6lbs, so not so heavy it will crush your back, but substantial enough to stand up to some wind and snow. I've been pleased with, especially given the price tag. But I'm sure there are a lot of other (and maybe better?) options out there I'm not familiar with. This one has worked well for me! Thanks so much for watching!
