Aux arcs - pronounced ohz arc - aux isn’t pronounced as ow (as in now) x sounds like a ‘z’ because followed by a vowel

To be fair, that region probably wasn’t too much different between the civil war and the 50’s.

If the U.S. tried it on, there is a good chance Canada 🇨🇦 could have won with disgruntled Southerners possibly joining the conflict and the U.S. having fight a two front war! However all of that is hypothetical as it didn't happen thank goodness. .

This was one of those terrifying wars that was so devastating that a country more or less ceased to exist as a relevant force in global politics because it wasn't just political destruction but literal removal of the populace from existence. It's like Genghis Khan levels of obliteration, I really can't think of too many examples like it after 1800. There are many conflicts, but normally there are at least successor states that went on to be similarly important because no matter what's happening in politics you're still going to have the people, but in this case, well, the people were all dead. Crazy.

An update on conversation therapy in the U.S. and Canada (as of May 9th, 2024): Canada has banned conversation therapy since this video, and 22 states in the U.S. have banned it (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington), and it's also illegal in Puerto Rico. Also, same-sex marriage is legal in Mexico now.

It's not an identity crises, it's a mental-illness crises. When your town is built on miners, bartenders, and prostitutes, there's ALWAYS going to be a high level of criminal activity, child abuse/neglect, and a narcotics market. Frankly, there's nothing else for youth to do in the Ozarks but "breed n' speed".

As someone also from the Ozarks and Missouri, the Ozarks don't get enough credit. From years of poverty, generations of hard mining labor and milling, we get a bad reputation. However, I rarely see people go over the culture, with wonderful scenic areas, music, and food. It's nice to see some Ozark representation.

So feudalism ended in 2008 and we're to believe it was a coincidence the biggest global financial crisis since the great deppresion just happened to happen in the same year? Life was also better <2008 than it is now after. Comeback for feudalism?

I know this is like 5 years old, but it's worth noting that even while Sun Yat-sen was promoting a pan-nationalist Chinese identity, he also heavily engaged in anti-Manchu rhetoric and, when creating the national mythos for his new nation's legitimacy, talked about the Manchus as if they were the cause of China's current misfortune.

Just like in mainstream nations from the 18th to the beginning of 20th century. Feudalism was once again defeated by rich capitalists, not by some broke-ass revolutionaries.
