That song is also played with Bill Frisell "Harmony" even better then this version.

Amazing. I now have three favorite versions of this song. The original KC record, your a cappella version, and the version I just heard a few days ago at the BEAT show in Durham. The original always a great organic+mechanical vibe to it. Your version shows the organic sides important role in integrating the mechanical. The BEAT version, especially the Vai solos add an element of “organic by way of talking with alien birds” to the aesthetic which I enjoyed immensely. Great work!

I have to imagine that playing TSS well with instruments is at best difficult. Doing this piece vocally is quite an accomplishment and very well done. Going to hook up the headphones.

Petra, I didn’t know where else to write you, so I’ll do it here. I’m on my way to Florida, binging your music. How did I find you? When hamsters attack! I was talking to my 22 year-old son the other day who is now a musician, and we reminisced over the captain underpants CD we listened to 1000 times when he was five years old. I said to him, “remember that unbelievable a cappella song with all those crazy talented and wacky ladies singing, layering tracks, being goofy, brilliant, etc.?“ so I finally decided to do a little bit of research and I learned that it was all you. All those ladies were just you! Then I read your bio and your website and heard that you started doing all of that on a Tascam 488. It brought a big smile to my face because I’ve been multitrack recording acappellas and guitar music myself too for decades, including on that very same tascam. Just wanted to drop you a line here in 2024 to say… You are ridiculously amazing! So so talented. And the best part is your quirkiness and willing to be crazy silly. God bless!

I'm hoping that if there's a heaven after I die, it will include a bunch of young women with angel wings singing an a cappella version of "I can see for miles". Maybe Keith Moon and John Entwistle will be there too!
