What an outstanding interview. So, I think - given the repugnant history John Company so compellingly portrays - a roleplay of it's grim protagonists might be super-interesting and contradictory. Inhabiting evil banality (banal evilty?) is probably a constructive exercise, and possibly deeply transportive and disturbing. I am super keen to try! Also, NB has convinced me to pre-order the next round of Earthborne Rangers. Time to get on board with that one. Thanks to you both!

It's been a longer break than usual, but I take one for at least 4-6 weeks after every 20-episode season. I did that the first season because I didn't know if I could book more than 20 interviews and thought that might be stretch. Then I kept doing it because I never want to be in a situation where I book an episode I'm not really interested in recording for the sake of continuity.

Thank you for this review. I came across this book while reading Salman Rushdie's latest book "Knife' in which he writes about his own attack. The issue is that Islamic law does not allow criticism of Islam or the Prophet, of which the punishment is death. Therin you can see the thinly veiled insecurity. Your review was also helpful for bringing to my attention the Shoair book, which I will be reading as well.

Great video, but I have a question: In the Rulebook (pg. 6) it mentions “For the life points you pay in this manner you can destroy face up fighting cards.” I interpreted that as you can destroy cards to use as payment for the missing fight value.

Congratulations, that's fantastic! I'll miss your reviews, but you deserve to pursue what makes you happy. Perhaps there is a middle-ground where you can still offer a "things I liked and things I didn't like so much" element as part of your tutorial, overview, and play through videos? I'm sure there's a can of worms to consider regarding when personal commentary crosses the line into review territory, but those sorts of things are valuable to many viewers (or maybe just me). I especially appreciate it when a video give viewers a sense of what it's like to play the game in addition to the technical "this is how the game is played" component.

I moved all my games by myself in a uhaul. No one but me touched my games. I'm looking to move over 1,000 miles away and I will do the same, even if it takes a dedicated trip just for the games.
