This year I read "The new fish" by østli and sæstre, on the salmon farming industry, and stopped eating salmon altogether 😅. That's the power of books !

I'm scared to read this now... D:

Yes, it was worse than I imagined 😅😢. To be honest, since Covid, I've been trying to eat more responsibly and consciously. So, I've read a lot about livestock farming, etc. I'm not completely vegetarian yet, but I'm heading in that direction: I still buy meat, but only from producers I know etc.

If that's a bad year for you, may I have many such bad years in future. I just bought "black Easter" on your recommendation. For my part: Why, one may ask, with so much excellent new fiction, am I rereading Patrick O'Brian's "Aubrey/Maturin" series this year? Because as I grow older, the books grow with me, changing into a different moment, in a different life. Perhaps the finest and most moving historical fiction ever written.

I need to read those then, because I love historical fiction. Gore Vidal's "Julian" really does it for me and I like to reread it every couple of years.

Thanks for this list! I have the Kushner book on my TBR list but am working through other stuff first. I hadn't heard of the Williams book! Do you mostly read ebooks? Physical? or a mixture?
@BeyondSolitaire15 күн бұрын
I read a mix! I tend to prefer to have physical copies of books I am using for research, while I will choose the ebook version of novels and especially light reads. I've also been making a point of using the library more regularly.
