Great informative video. UNFORTUNATELY, cleaning throttle body, the pipe, also rotating the flange thing hasn't worked! I'VE STILL GOT AN IRRATIC BOUNCING IDLE. Fuel and air filter already changed. ANY SUGGESTIONS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Once the PCV Fails, it indicates that’s time for a new Valve Cover. since the PCV itself can not be replaced due to the fact that it is built into the Valve cover. It’s a common issue on E9X Chassis’s.

if you have a problem like this, don't change it right away. all I did was make a small hole and I sprayed break cleaner and there was too much oil and it was too black. I did it 10 times until it was clear what came out, then I used a hair blower to dry the inside of the hole and then I applied heat resistant glue paste to the hole. The flap now works and I have had no problems. it is so expensive here in germany it costs 700 euros.

This is possibly the most thorough and helpful car maintenance clip I have ever watched. The detail on the clips working was so good that I got all the bits off with confidence in no time. For The pulling tool was I found an old metal curtain pole arm that fitted perfectly…a bit of wiggling and out they popped. The only improve could be that when you insert the new spark plug first rotate it anti-clockwise and when you feel it drop you can then turn clockwise and tightened with confidence of no cross threading..thanks again

Hiya - great video, thanks for posting. I'm trying to figure out how to lock the crankshaft to remove the crankshaft pulley. Does the TDC marker bolt lock the shaft... looks too flimsy for that?

I had this error code DTC: P10A4 and I did it as you show and it was super effective and the error disappeared and it worked again. Thank you very much for making this video, I saved a lot. God bless and more power to your channel🙏

Bought new 2014 B7 Passat with 1.8 EA888 with asin tiptronic. 168,413 miles. Replaced PVC and use BG EPR, MOA, and 44K. Drive from NJ to PA cruise set to 57mph, sunroof and both front windows open 41.mpg. 96 miles in cruise set to 57 isnt typical driving, but outstanding performance still. Oh 5-6K oil change intervals using Castrol 5W-40 Euroblend a/3 b/4. Still ZERO SQUEAKSor rattles. In my 67 years, best most reliable car Ive owned including my 2011 German made GTI. Luck, maybe but intelligent maintenance pays dividends

i bought a mk6 gti like 2 months ago, its a 2009 with 145000km. ive looked through the inspection hole, it has the new tensioner and is at -2.8. no weird noises, runs great. previous owner must have swapped the chain.

Comparing 00:20 and 03:56, you can clearly see the new pump has a hole in it, while the old one hasn't. The shiny thing visible through that hole is the pump shaft. What the hell? A hole through the top that gives dust and whatever direct access to the shaft? I'm somewhat skeptical of "cars being designed to break these days", but in this specific case - really, what the hell? What good could this hole do?

I got a 1st gen v6 3.0. code bmk. Do you know it it has that escape port on the cyl head? Good video, I've spotted a injector deviation on cyl 3 and 4 (-2mg). Might go for a injector reseal too.

2013 Touareg TDI, 135K miles, had one seal fail with similar symptoms of oil splooge. Replaced all six seals (kit) and new stretch bolts. Cheap and easy.

@@mihalym.6876 About $75 for everything from dealer, 6 injector seal washers, 6 injector body O-Rings, and 6 fuel return O-Rings (the little ones), and 6 stretch bolts.

@@mihalym.6876 I paid around $75 for all the parts if I remember. Some from dealer and some from online. I had to buy a tool, an injector puller adapter , I already had an appropriate slide hammer. One injector was really stuck, but I got it out.

For those that dropped the grommet 8:10 this is the part number that you need: V03C103638B Where I am, you can only get this from the dealer - no aftermarket shops have this part. Cost around 11 EUR per piece. Good luck everyone and have fun!!

Yeah they wanted to charge me for a new EGR unit, I went home cleaned out under the top cover, corrosion scraped out, discovered the valve was sticky in an open position so shot some WD40 in there, made a new spring myself on the lathe winding spring steel around a bar of steel, decided not to install the spring as it only takes up a small amount of backlash, 10 years later still no problems. WD40 is much cheaper than a whole new EGR and my service guy just looked at me with the but but but the diagnostics told me we had to replace it.

I had my intake removed and cleaned, they said they also done the EGR cooler as well but I still get the same codes 49CF & 49CE Going to pull the EGR off to take a look as I don't trust the very young mechanic who did the messy job of removing and cleaning the intake manifold actually knew what he was actually doing with the EGR

Absolute beauty this video/tutorial! Please i have a 1.4 FSI, AXU, 2005, 16V, no variator, 60k miles. No error on vcds or dashboard. After the car sits for more then 3 weeks, only at first key it rattles. Please 3 questions: 1)beeing a fsi, and everybody changes at 200k, it could be only the tensioner? 2)i saw on 1.4 tsi CAXA that has a revised tensioner. Yours(oem) is the old one, and is strange that they(the shop) didnt provide you the upgraded one. I m i wrong? Should i buy the revised one or stay with the classic oem(because i am an old fsi)? 3)from what i ve read on fsi it could be olso the camshaft axe worn out and nothing on the timing. What do you think? My logic, is that after i have the first key, in that day or the next seven, it has no noise, or only a fraction of a second in the seventh. So the tensioner it still holds some oil and you can think that there is no oil in the camshafts(longer periods of time). Thanks in advance!

To my knowledge the ECU in this engine uses a CAN protocol. If so how are you able to find the Magnetic Clutch Adaption from the Settings menu without first choosing a Group Number? VCDS offers no guidance on which Group Number to choose. They expect you to guess the correct answer

You are missing one crucial step which is the magnetic clutch adaption process (can be done from VCDS). If not done there is a serious risk that the magnetic clutch will start slipping. This very quickly result in so much wear that you would have to replace the water pump again

Morning,got a similar problem replaced the pump about 3 times now and just replaced it again, noticed a rattling sound on starting acceleration but goes away. Could my supercharger maybe faulty causing the water pumps to give in so quick?noticed the sound in the previous water pump and that one lasted a week. This pump is form a different supplier though. Sorry for commenting on an old thread

Update. BMW North America has an open recall of the VANOS sprocket bolts but almost a year later they do not have a remedy yet. If you know how to change the valve cover gasket, you should be able to replace the VANOS bolts at the same time. Just need a few specialized tools - Torx security bit, etc. Lots of KZbin videos on this topic. My N52 VANOS bolts were only finger tight when I replaced and thread locked them. Job takes about 5 hours if you go slow and careful.

thanks so much.... worked well, took about an hour to complete. i just drilled a 6mm hole in the bottom and cleaned out with carb cleaner, decided to leave hole open so oil can drain 🤷‍♂. blew out with the air clean and reinstalled. error code gone and works fine and not limited to 3k rpm. let’s see how long it last. definitely worth a try.

@@mahmutcelikturk8447 i drilled the hole just below where the pinion gear of the motor is on the bottom. i didn't cover the hole as i'm thinking it would allow the oil to drain out the maybe prevent it from filling up and causing the problem again. not sure if its a good or bad idea having it open but i'm going to chance it just for the reason to allow drainage. hope this helps, mine is still running since doing it.
